Hi all, firstly I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, I’m fairly new to cc. How hard is it to get into University College Dublin as an international student (us)? I have a 3.5 GPA and have done multiple IB classes. I cannot find an acceptance rate or anything like that anywhere so any input would be greatly appreciated. Is it known as a prestigious/hard to get into school? Thanks!
First of all, UCD loveslovesloves having international students. UCD & TCD are the two big names in Ireland, but note that the degree of difficulty is linked not to the university but the course within the university. Some courses are pretty easy to get into, others not so much. But- if you meet their requirements, you will get an offer. You can find the requirements towards the bottom of this page:

As you can see, standardized test scores matter a lot.
You will notice that UCD has 2 tracks. One is for international students (especially American students) and is essentially a year / year and half tacked on to the beginning of a usual degree program, and the other is the usual Irish program.
The key difference is that Irish students typically study just one subject and once you are in the usual stream for your course your choices will be very limited. So, check out the course details carefully- it is hard to change once you are in it.
Irish universities look at your test scores (and GPA) ONLY. This is very different from the US. If you visit, TCD stands out. People will argue about its academic reputation, but it is gorgeous.
