What are my chances?? And any other school suggestions?

Also if anyone knows when is the earliest you can turn in your application for admissions? And how long does it take them to notify you after it is turned in?

Snyder…I’m sure you’ll be accepted…your GPA is high enough and your SAT is what UA would consider to be “adequate” for admission…especially as an early applicant.

BTW…just curious…what made you consider Alabama? I’m glad to see so many OOS students considering Alabama! :)

Also…I notice that you’re in a liturgy band…if you’re Catholic, there is a nice church (St. Francis) right across the street from campus. They have a strong campus ministry. Of course, if you are a different religion, your church is probably also close by…the campus is almost surrounded by churches of every stripe!! …lol

I think that many don’t realize that UA now receives over 17,000 applications a year.

That said, the requirements for admission are rather formula, so I think that those who don’t have the stats, don’t apply. Conversely, those who think that they do qualify are more likely to apply…so, a good number of acceptances.

Does that make sense…I don’t know if I wrote that very clearly.

Makes sense. UA actually received almost 19,500 applications for this Fall, which is 1,000 more than Fall of 2008’s number of applications. I would agree that UA should raise its standards to stabilize enrollment and increase the prestige of the degree, but also realize that the huge increase in enrollment is bringing in much needed money during a time of reduced state funding. I noticed that the majority of the increase in students for this fall came from the Grad School. There were only 91 more freshman this Fall than last, so it would seem that UA now rejects even more than 40 per cent of its applicants. Will be interesting to see what effect the new requirement for the Writing portion of the ACT or SAT has on the kind of students who apply to UA.
