Has anyone had any recent experience with this program? https://undergraduateresearch.ua.edu/emerging-scholars-program/ The website states that it is the student’s responsibility to find the research opportunities, but if you are selected as an emerging scholar, are you guaranteed a research opportunity? Does participating in the program often lead to continuing research opportunities? The website provides helpful information but was hoping to get some insight from recent participants.
From what I remember, the program has a long list of research opps and it’s the student’s responsibility to contact the professor associated with a desired program to request the opportunity to do research with him/her.
It’s a wonderful program. All we’ve ever heard is raves.
