University of Alabama Huntsville, vs University of Alabama Birgminham for Computer S

Hello I am looking at two colleges which are nearby me. One of which is UAH, and the other is UAB both of these schools seem like good schools but I am unsure for the major I am considering which is computer science. For one I was looking at the UAH Computer Science program which is in the science department and that is what struck me. Furthermore in case you do not no, UAH is a primary engineering school, and UAB is a primary medical, and science school. I have talked to a couple of friends who go to UAH and they said a lot of people switch to computer engineering at UAH because it is stronger program. While I have not heard a lot of talk about UAB's computer science program although it can't be terribly horrible because Facebook donated the new computer security room.

I also like Auburn and Alabama but I feel those two fine universities are a little bit to big aand greek for my likings.

At the moment I am leaning towards UAB and fyi I am a senior this year. Thank you

You may want to take a look at the course offerings at each school:

[CIS@UAB - Undergraduate Catalog](<a href=“CAS - Department of Computer Science | UAB”>CAS - Department of Computer Science | UAB)
[Course Descriptions - University of Alabama in Huntsville - Acalog ACMS?](http://catalog.uah.edu/content.php?catoid=11&navoid=212)

Note that UAH offers courses in operating systems and networks in both CPE and CS departments. They do not look like identical courses, so you may want to look into which version goes more in-depth if you are considering UAH.

Thank you ucbalumnus.

Just wondering what school you finally decided on. My son is facing the same decision right now. He wants to major in Computer Science, but isn’t sure whether UAB or UAH would be his best choice.
