University of Arizona or ASU?

Hi, I am an international student trying to figure out which is best, the University of Arizona or Arizona State? I intend to major in Psychology, and hopefully do a minor in Film. I currently have an Associates of Arts Degree with a GPA of 3.8. Which college should I apply for?

As an Arizonan, I can tell you that it's common knowledge here that ASU is little more than a community college, while the University of Arizona is a respectable university. I think the choice is clear.

Unless you are doing the Honors college UA is the choice.

UMM... false

As an Arizonian citizen myself I completely disagree with uman's comment. ASU is not much more than a community college? Are you kidding? ASU is a huge research university with amazing opportunities that open to over 50,000 kids. School spirit is rampant throughout Tempe. The weather is great for most of the year. Tuscon, by the way isn't the greatest city in the world. I almost guarantee that there is more to do in Tempe than in Tuscon. Just my opinion, but uman's sentence is far FAR from the truth.

I'd choose ASU over U of A anyday

For psychology I would choose U of A unless you are in the honors college then I would go by setting.U of A is prettier (in my opinion ) while ASU is more concrete but in a bigger city if that is more important. ASU has more of a party school reputation. The honors college at ASU is easier to get into simply because they look at the whole picture. At U of A is is statistics driven and I believe the computer chooses.
