I am from Long Island, about 30 minutes by train to NYC. I was wondering if the University of Arkansas would be a good fit for someone from a northeastern city. I love their athletics and the out of state price isn’t too bad. Thank you.

Hi dctalay -

We have had many students from NYC who have attended and loved the UofA. I think the key is to expect a different pace. Having lived in comparable cities myself, I notice and appreciate the fact that since everything is relatively close, I have more time to connect with friends and to pursue activities than I could previously where time was spent with headphones in place in the subway during my 45-minute commute. The best way to figure out if Arkansas is right for you is to visit. We have daily direct flights out of New York at XNA, a regional airport close to campus. When you’re ready to visit, just let us know by going to visit.uark.edu

Best,
