University of California applications are randomly being checked for truthfulness

Just heard that UCs application audits are coming out this month to check for “truthfulness” in the application (i.e. how many hours you claim you worked, your volunteer groups, if you were in fact the lead in the school play, if you were indeed team captain of the volleyball team, if you took a certain course, etc). Students, remember to answer these letters and do not ignore them. Failing to respond may result in all your applications to UCs being revoked, and you cannot apply there again.

Proof of a copy of the school play program, your work pay check stubs, a letter from a coach verifying your team role, a letter from your counselor on school letterhead, etc will suffice. This is to “uphold the integrity of the UC application process.” Read on for more info: [SF</a> Mom3: A Mom’s Guide to Applying to UC Schools: UCs will be randomly checking your application for lies](<a href=“http://sfmomof3.blogspot.com/2012/01/ucs-will-be-randomly-checking-your.html]SF”>http://sfmomof3.blogspot.com/2012/01/ucs-will-be-randomly-checking-your.html)

Man, UC is such a buzzkill.

On the other hand, I probably shouldn’t have embellished a few things on my application LOL.

I believe of the 57,000 or so applicants, they will be randomly checking 10%.
