University of California Riverside-- Business admin or Business econ

hello everyone!~

im a sophomore student here at UCR, well now i cant decide whether or no to choose business admin or busines econ as my major for this coming year,
as we all know, UCR and UCB are the only UC system which offering Business admin as a major, also i heard it's pretty elective, so im just wondering becuz i been researched all of the threads obviously econ major has a bright future? or is it just a prep for MBA?
Becuase situations are differently distributed among diff states, at UCR, Business admin seems like a good major, but i just dont know should I stay with business admin or go for business econ, which one has a broad way to find a job?

My goal in future is work for 4 biggest firms,
any inputs thanks advance

When you mean big 4, do you mean McKinsey, BCG, Bain and Booz Allen Hamilton?

yes the famous big four

any other inputs?

Don't go to a UC school other than UC Berkeley or UCLA.

UCR strght out of undergrad will be a very tough battle to get into those firms. UCLA and UC Berkeley although they get offers, are still are few and far in between students from Ivy leagues + top 10 schools like Stanford, MIT, etc.

UCR should be fine for getting a job at big 4 accounting and auditing firms though.

the famous big 4 represents the top 4 accounting firms, not the consulting firms listed above. With the diversity and scope of industries that reside in so cal, you should be able to find a job any sector. Although depending on what you want to pursue, the degree of difficulty to obtain that job will vary greatly. Maintain as close to a 4.0 as possible and indulge yourself in quality leadership positions and you should be able to get into any industry you desire, albeit with some luck required for certain consulting, finance and automotive jobs

also take a look at the vault guides on your career home page for some pointers and general info. The can be downloaded and viewed with acrobat. After you sign into your career account it should be on the home page in the left column
