For "Winter Intersession" at PCC, it's a short session that is actually in Spring. It begins in January and ends in February.

Now that I think about it, they should call it Spring Intersession...

So I submitted my UC application but I was wondering when we send in our transcripts. Do they send us a notice or do we just send them when the current semester ends?

according to my counselor, they will send you a notice..

has anyone figured out what to do with the dropdown selection regarding academic renewal classes?

I failed a class my first semester but am retaking it right now and am on pace to get an A, so how do i enter that into the app. Just put an F for the original class, and then A for the retake? or do I actually have to use the AR option.

dhl3, I'm a psych major (you asked me like 2 pages back after I asked about having too many units)

from everyone i've talked to they only ask for your transcripts once you've been accepted.....pretty cool cause it saves us money too?

From my understanding you need to send in your fall transcripts no matter what, because they don't even look at your application until they see your fall grades. However, they only ask for your spring transcripts once you have been accepted. Of course, I could be wrong.

Well I know that you send in the transcripts including fall before they make their decision. I just wasn't sure if they asked for them or if you just send them right away.

You are never asked to turn in fall transcripts; you do however report your fall grades.

........

they do spot check, right?

Actually, a friend of mine was asked by Haas adcom's to turn in his grades halfway through Fall of 2006 (around March i'm guessing). He was missing 1 english course and 1 calculus course. The grades he turned in were pretty bad...and was most likely rejected because of that. I'm pretty sure that this scenario is uncommon and only for very borderline candidates.

....you meant spring, right?

yeup...Spring

for haas, do they look at the ECs on the app or the resume (to be submitted in jan) for the "outside of classes" stuff?

grades:
calc ii*- B+
cogscience- A
writing (not college level)- A-
biology- B

diff and linear* - B
psych (upper division)- C
writing (college level)*- B+
history- A

organic chemistry* - A
calc iii- B
java- A
physics- A

spring schedule:
organic chem ii*
physics ii*
statistics
logic and critical thinking*

chem club.
what r my chances for transfering as a chem major to ucsd, ucla, ucsc? the only thing that im worried about is that i didnt take two semesters of general chem, and i took only organic chem. the ap test score (4) covered a semester of it. no withdraws. the classes with a star are the classes that are included in the major preporatory. everything else is included in gen ed. are the major grades more weight then the gen ed?

does anyone know who looks at your app if your applying to HAAS. Does the app go from the main admissions office, to the haas admissions dept., then they look at it from there, or does HAAS look at it right off the bat. Another thing, in regards to HAAS, will they consider your personal statements just as much as the second essay in January?

Thanks

don't forget about me :P
do they look at the ECs on the app or the resume (to be submitted in jan) for the "outside of classes" stuff? If both, which one weighs more?

this is going to sound like a joke but i have a 3.1 at university of illinois...do i have any chance at cal engineering?

I ASK THIS AGAIN:

has anyone figured out what to do with the dropdown selection regarding academic renewal classes?

does academic renewal replace that old grade or will your transcript show that you took the course twice
