University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

Thanks for the advice. I calculated it and if I can pull a B+ in this writing class -- I got a B and an A- on the first two papers-- I can hit 3.803. HOLLA!

do we ever send in transcripts?

my counselor told me that i only need to send in my transcripts after the schools accept me. In between that time it's all self-report grades.

I wonder if they'll extend the deadline like they did the past few years.

server isn't down, so prob. not

Time's UP EVERYONE!!!

Whew, finished my essays at 11:55. Submitted right on time or maybe even at 12:00. I think I should've qualified for the fee waiver but it was 11:59 as I was frantically clicking 'next' and typing in my credit card information, or I probably did something wrong. Or maybe I just didn't qualify. Oh well.

LMAO!!

That's so crazy hw323!
how about if the server down?
U wouldn't make it.

Anyways, good luck with ur application. Hopefully, we all can get in.
which college do u apply to?

I apply to Cal.
Hopefully, I can get it.

Did anyone else get e-mails and phone calls from the University of California encouraging to submit the application?

whew apps are done. good luck everybody! i hope you all end up at your dream schools.
should we start postin our stats?

what for lol :D

i looked at all the average unit completion for the admitted at ucla and saw that they are around 90 and 100. does that mean that if u have minimum unit completion (60), ur chances are low?
i meet the bare minimum of 60 units because i am transferring in only one year. they should consider this.

i heard that too much units can prevent u from graduating in uc's. is this true?

i refuse to accept the fact that personal essays have no play in ur admission to ucla or berkeley. i wrote essays that will utterly blow their minds. how can they not react emotionally when i discuss my divine experience with learning about Alexander the Great?

will uc's be less impressed with a 4.0 from one semestre? i'm transferring in one year, u see.

sauron, I think thats cuz they r counting it as uc units, so if you do their conversion thing then you will be at those units.

UCLA uses quarter system.
The 60 minimum unit requirement applies to Semester System schools.
For CCCs that use quarter systems, they must complete 90 units.

Conversion from Semester units to Quarter Units:

Semester Unit x1.5 = Quarter Unit

ex.
60 Semester Unit x1.5 = 90 Quarter Units.

mehhh 2 more weeks till break

"react emotionally when i discuss my divine experience with learning about Alexander the Great?"

i'm not sure if that's sarcasm...but if it's not, in all seriousness, adcom's have seen almost everything. It takes alot to get them..."emotional"...

no offense sauronvaldemont but I had the same reaction to your post as johnnzen......

But yes, just like yourself, I wrote personal statements that were very personal and emotionally charged.

*Greatest Misconception of College Applicants #1: *

The best kind of essay is the one that's emotionally touching/moving.

i can't believe i failed to notice that my school was in semestre system and the uc's in quarter system. u guys are pretty knowledgable in these things.

actually, my essays were just clever. it was just TO THE POINT. it seems to say "i am a genius and am a person not to be messed with or fooled with triflings; so consider my geniusness and coolnesss seriously"
