University of California Transfer Students Fall 2007 OFFICIAL THREAD!!!

yes, i will have 60 units. some of my units come from ap scores. transferring in one year is actually not that impossible. the only problem is the uc's will have only one term from which to arrive at a gpa. i guess they might even look at ur ap scores if they think one semestre is not good enough a predictor.

Oh I know it's possible. I know a couple of students that have done it. Whats your major and what prereqs have you completed?

just wanted to see if anyone thought I had a legitimate shot at UCLA...
applying to transfer from UCSC as PoliSci
GPA: 3.5
last 2 quarters I've gotten a 4.0
really good work history... 2 summer internships in a corporate office, worked for Santa Cruz county clerk's office freshman year of college, volunteered for '06 primary and mid-term elections, currently work for a legal publication and trial service.
essays were pretty good
all pre-reqs done (all with As)
...was just wondering how much grade trends and work experience would boost my app...

also applied to UCSB and UCSD

I think you have a great shot

silver - i think 3.5 is average transfer GPA from community colleges, not sure about from another UC tho.

3.5 may be the avrage for ucb and ucla, but merced, sc, davis and others its around 3.0

silver you have a great chance at UCLA.

Just took my first of 3 finals. I did some calculations and needed a 79 to keep my A in the class. Now to study for physics.

How is everyone else with finals?

I have just finished my first quarter in UCLA:
1. C++ Programming A :D yay
2. Linear algebra A+ (~95%) :D (this grade has not been officially posted yet)
3. Management 1A Unknown :( (still waiting for the grade)

good job kevin...reppin da cc stooodints

Final ended for me last week.

my first choice major is art history, my second choice is history

for ucla i completed only half of major prep for art hsitory and for history i completed everything.

haha i remember kevin101 from last year...good job!

I just found out 3 of my 4 grades from this past semester. 2 B's and an A.

I've done some number crunching, and I'll either have a 3.40 or 3.44 overall GPA (depending on the grade in my last class).

3.40
political science
(TAP)
good essay
not many ec's
applied to UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, and UCI

what do you guys think?

I think you have a great shot at UCLA if you're TAP certified.

Do you have all your pre-reqs completed?

4/5 after this semester. 5/5 after the spring semester...

ya, you're good

I was wondering if you do get accepted to the UC and I send them my high school transcript, can they reject me? and also, I have been in CC for 4 years and shows that i have been only attending 1 or 2 classes on some semesters, but I was heavily working. How does that look? I need all the advice i can get. Thank you.

I applied to UCLA as a Design/Digital Media, which is not impacted my GPA is at about 3.2 and i am getting ready to send in my portfolio.

Why would you send your high school transcript? They never asked for it, and they never will.

This is where you have to give tremendous effort in your essay to explain why you only could take 1 to 2 classes per semester. If you can't do a good job on it, then the UC adcom will view it with contempt, and your chance will be hindered.

thanks for your help
