was wondering if you do get accepted to the UC and I send them my high school transcript, can they reject me? and also, I have been in CC for 4 years and shows that i have been only attending 1 or 2 classes on some semesters, but I was heavily working. How does that look? I need all the advice i can get. Thank you.

Berkeley asked for my high school transcript. But UC's are awesome in terms of all this crap - you send your stuff AFTER they accept you. I went to a high school in California, so they asked me for my transcript, but I was already in, so it cannot at all impact their decision.

sucks for the people that get a 3.9 in high school and dont get into the school they want and then go to a community college. then they worked hard in highschool in nothing becuase colleges wont even look at those grades!

uhm... ya.. like ... my grades SUCKED in highschool. they dont even care??? MUAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not true for private schools.. and Ivies. High school grades do play a factor.

Thank you... Yeah, I remember you--Technological Kevin--too!

The UC campus you are admitted to will request your high school transcripts. We highly recommend that you submit these transcripts. They will not be used to determine your eligibility, assuming you are a junior level transfer student. They are used to see if we can satisfy some UC graduation requirements that most student satisfy in high school. We request these and if they are not submitted you will need to meet those graduation requirements in some other way.

actually, i think doing well in high school DO play a factor in something much more important than admissions. if u did well in high school, then it usually means that u did some ap course work. with enough ap course work u can even skip a year in ccc and enter the uc system at junior standing. also, ap's are usually harder than regular ccc work (trust me everyone and most of all the admissions know this). so if u took like 3 or 4 ap's in a high school year and passed them all, then u will most likely do a superb job in the ccc having built up so much experience of college work.

now if u did no ap course work, but still considered urself as a competitive high school student, then u DID do all the work for nothing, unless u did a superb job in the sat's which some jobs ask for.

so my conclusion is that getting admitted isn't all that important compared to issues like staying at a ccc for several years. i truly believe that getting into a school is fairly easy compared to doing well once ur in and going to a cool graduate school.

for those of you who left high school early: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/resources/materials/CC_2006/06_A-G_matrix.pdf

That clears some things up UCD Admissions, because I did hear something about UC campuses looking for 2 years of foreign language in high school transcripts.

Okay, after Fall quarter grades are input, I will have:

-3.84 GPA
-5/5 Prereqs for Econ/Biz Econ completed with all A's except for Calc II which I got a C+ (completed last spring), 1/2 Management classes done with second to be completed in Spring
-Coming from another UC
-Deans list, AP scholar, all that stuff

-EC's: Officer in Biz Club, member of Leadership club, leadership development series, member of marketing association, volunteer for undergrad admissions, music production (just a hobby, but i put it anyway cuz that's what I spend my time on)
-Work: Interned during summer for Econ H/W website, Part-time at same company during school, Student Assistant at Leadership Center at school, Drug store for 2 yrs during high school

Chances for UCLA/UC Berk?

Good stats overall but a C+ in a major req class for a very selective major such as UCLA's bizecon may be problematic to your chances. For Cal, I think you're pretty much in.

woooooooooot just found out I have 4.0 for this semester :D

^Me too. Congrats!

me too -_- w00t

me three!!! Happy Holidays CC folks :-)

I still haven't got my grades back. my finals were a more than a week ago

me either... and what majors are all these people with 4.0's

English (10 chars)

math

do you guys think I have a shot at cal w/ 4.0 igetc and major requirements done? :P

yes............

No. Your GPA isn't high enough. Don't even apply.
