^Why would they want the high school you attended in 9th grade, when the app said, "List all schools...[Beginning] with the High School you graduated from"

That's what I said...=/

In the message they sent me, they made it pretty clear that they wanted every school I had attended since 9th grade. I hope there isn't a bigger problem with my app...I really like UCI and would love to go there (if I dont get into UCLA).

what about ucsb? lol

i'll call berk tomorrow....but my app should be just fine!!

i still cant log onto that ucsd triton site...when does sd come out?

mojo: yes, for me, ucsb > uci
however, there are some very serious family issues that will probably force me to stay a little closer to home (ucsb, im sorry to say, looks like itll be a bit too far away). Unless something changes (for the better), it looks like my choices will come down to UCLA and UCI. It's too bad too, 'cause as you know, I absolutely love UCSB. :)

Coast, in the message did they only speak for themselves, i.e. only UCI wants that information, or was it a systemwide thing from the UC Office of the President?

It was only from UCI...

I love UCSB and have visited several times.

when do ucsd and ucla decisions come out?

^ I want to know too

Also, do transfer students have to interview for the regents scholarship?
I was thinking, if Berkeley sends them out around May 1st that would be a bit odd to have interviews so much later than freshmen.

they're sending it out before may 1st in email for sure

I hope. But even if they do send them out before may do you think we have to interview.

probably not

transfer applicant pool is a lot smaller so I'm guessing they'll just do it in one round

maybe call in tomorrow to ask

Wait a minute, transfer applicant pool was smaller? I thought there were increases in transfer applicants this year compared to last.

relative to freshmen pool

WARNING - CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC

Is Affirmative Action illegal? Other than use for statistical purposes, does it matter what box we check on our application?

if you're not a URM, it doesn't matter if you check or not

augh, why dont you check other UC boards, this has been repeated a million times!!!!

If you are a Cali resident, you would know that since 1996(or 98) california voters approved a proposition (209 i believe) that makes affirmative action in california illegal. With this said, this blocks the admission officers from ever seeing your race on your application until a decision has been made. Once a decision has been made, the school notes what percentages of each race they have accepted.

oh

didn't know that thanks for the info :P

(does the law apply to public schools only?)

for the uc's is it true that they only count a maximun of 8 honors courses to your prelim gpa out of which only 2 can be from sophomore yr?
