Not too bad, correct? I'm pretty confident in my essay writing as well as my teacher recommendations. Also University of Wisconsin is a pretty sure thing, right? And what are my chances for more selective schools (ivies)?

I think your lack of leadership in ECs puts you out of running for the more selective Ivies, but as long as you write killer essays you should be fine for Chicago.

You have a 35 on the ACT. In other words, a 2350-2360 on the SAT. Don't bother taking the SAT.

As long as your essays show the quirkiness Chicago is looking for, I'd say you have an excellent shot. You're almost definitely in at Wisconsin, assuming you're in-state. As an OOS student, your chances would still be very good. Your extracurriculars and awards are a bit lacking for extremely selective schools, as roboticsgirl mentioned. Hopkins, WUStL, Duke, and Northwestern are matches. Most of the Ivies would be reaches, although I wouldn't be surprised if you snagged at least one or two acceptances.

OP, If you want NM money, you NEED to take the SAT, if for no other reason than to have the confirming SAT score. I agree with others that the 35 ACT is stellar -- but to get NM, ya gotta take the SAT. Versteh?

Yeah, like everyone said. Your good to go. You may even get a decent amount of cash depending on your situation. ASFAIK, UChicago gives out money like it grows on trees. `

Thanks guys. I am planning to take the SAT in November (already scheduled to do some subject tests in October). I do wish I had more leadership positions. It sucks that my primary extracurricular interest (band) doesn't really allow for many student leadership positions.
