A few weeks ago I requested an off-campus interview, but I’ve heard no reply. I know that they are based only on availability, but since I live in San Antonio, I’d imagine that there has to be someone in my area. I read online that the interviews begin on October 1st and must be completed by November 8th. Should I try contacting someone, or do they just not have someone for me?
There is no harm in calling the admissions office directly
OP- my understanding is that UChicago wants you to complete and submit your application and then request the interview. Have you submitted your app?
Also is an admissions representative going to your school? That would be a good time to ask too.
UChicago will be at my D’s school this week and they are having a session /talk here in Austin this week at a local high school. Try to find out when they head to your area.
Don’t worry. This happens a lot, the demand for an interview outpaces the supply of alumni interviewers. It has no bearing on your admissions decision; the same thing happened to me when I applied.
