Imagine if they did receive offers of organs/body parts, an the officers are just sitting around and one of them gets off the phone going “And that’s one more liver, Pete’s going to have quite a few to choose from” lool @soccerboy10

I wish you all the best of luck! I didn’t get off the waiting list, but I hope others get off of it soon! the process has been super stressful but I am very content to attend VT in the fall.
@MyLastSong ikr @boomboom123 I wish I was
@soccerboy10 hey congrats!!
Did they really say they wi take a lot more form the WL? My regional officer said that the class is almost full and they can’t that many… Hope they take a lot more!!!
Ahh, my CC called UChicago and my college counselor says there may not be any movement from the waitlist for my region at least, I’m assuming. But apparently she’s willing to offer me a spot in the next year’s class. Gah, I don’t know if I should take it considering I’m in the honors college at my state school, in my first choice program with almost a full scholarship.
It’s difficult because UChi was my first choice, and I took my waitlisted status as a rejection, so after practically a month of mentally preparing myself for my state school (which wasn’t a school I saw myself going to) and changing my attitude from “eh” to “woohoo!” about my state school, it’s so so difficult and I feel like I’ve been dragged back into confusion!
Good luck to everyone! I haven’t decided if I’ll take the option they’ve presented me or decide to stick it through the regular waitlist.
@tesfayeB Did your UChicago portal reflect the final decision?
Yes @zubear
My regional admissions officer told me that movement from the wait list is unlikely. And the wait list will close in a couple of weeks. I live in the Midwest but I feel that this applies for all regions. It is definitely time for us to move on.
@adrenalinegirl what region are you from?
Lol, the amount of conflicting information in this thread…
@Ilikeice lol Ikr…
@lolcho123 I’m in the mid-atlantic/east coast
Yup I don’t know what to believe anymore…I guess I’ll just wait it out
Wait @tesfayeB what did the email say? What was it about? Also did you guys have your college counselor call the admissions officer? Should I do that?
Is anyone else’s regional admissions counselor away on admissions travel until May 21? How do you think that affects us?
^^I don’t think that would affect anything. Vacations would not affect the urgent business of the office which at this time includes finalizing acceptances off of the wait list.
@tesfayeB why do you think they gave you a final decision already?? that’s hella scary. i wish you the best wherever you and maybe uchicago will be it for grad school or you’ll find a school to be more passionate about.
@awesomepossom @Emmaspirant hey guys so I was really annoyed so I emailed the Dean because waiting this long is bs, and the Dean gave permission for my regional admissions officer to disclose their decision early. To be honest with you all I don’t think my regional admissions officer was rooting for me, and I am glad that I know now instead of later. My Career Center specialist is friends with my regional admissions officer, so they talked on the phone and she told me that it was not likely for me to get off the waiting list prior to the final decision. Email the dean if you are tired of waiting, but I believe in you guys. I truly wish you all the best of luck, I know how stressful and tiring this college process is seeing that I was rejected to 12 colleges (mainly because I applied to a lot of ivy leagues and super prestigious colleges) but I am very content with Virginia Tech. God has a path for all of you guys and it is so bright no matter what happens. <3
@tesfayeB wait so did you get an email update because you requested for one or was everyone on the waiting list supposed to get one?
