UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO WAITLIST FOR CLASS OF 2019

Sorry if I already missed it but what time does UChicago usually get back to waitlisted students? Is it in May or later on during the summer or staggered out during that entire time?

Does anyone else think that UofC’s yield is struggling a little bit? I know that it’s not entirely unusual to take kids off the list in April, but I wouldn’t think it would be necessary unless less kids are accepting their offers. Perhaps I’m thinking wishfully, but none of my friends that got in, nor friends of friends, have accepted their offers.

@tshaba14la I believe Waitlisted people are being admitted on a rolling basis, and acceptances started probably around two weeks ago and might end after May…I’m not 100% sure, but it seems to be this way

OK thank you! I hate this waiting process and I don’t want it to drag me down for an entire month, but fingers crossed for good news!

Keep us updated on any more waitlist information that comes up  crossing my fingers for this week

Trying to stay positive I don’t mind waiting until May but I really want to know now!!!

Does anyone know when they will stop accepting people off of the waitlist? And does the Uchicago portal change after you get accepted? Thanks!

Hey dude, @bcmb97 have you heard back from the college? My counselor was just informed by the college that fin aid positions will not be available for the waitlisted INTERNATIONAL students because everyone’s taking their offers.

@e11even What? Are you 100% sure about this? What do you mean “because everyone’s taking their offers”?

do we have until June to know our result? Can someone confirm the latest time people have gotten acceptances and when people get their rejections generally? Thanks

@hallowdreams I know this is really late haha but I sent mine to both my regional admissions officer and the dean. Only my regional officer replied, but I’m sure they both received it.

This is honestly terrifying. I have a friend who was accepted EA, and now I’m hearing about people who are getting accepted off the waitlist early. Even if I can’t get any financial aid to go, I’d still like to hear back

@snowboardchick97 did you email the deal of undergraduate admissions or snail mail it? If you sent it as an email, could you give me the email address you used? Thanks! And good luck

I emailed like weeks ago TWICE and never heard back from anyone. So frustrated!!!

Does anyone know how many students get wait-listed at UChicago? Also, do students who get accepted from the wait-list usually get offered financial aid?

@raiderrunner2015 according to Niche.com, UChicago offers a position on the waitlist to a little over 4000 applicants and a little over 2000 accept. And about 100 are extended offers of admission from the waitlist. Scary statistics.

But the waitlist changes a bit every year, so we don’t know how many people will get off. Does the waitlist close in June?

Have any of you indicated that you’re willing to take a gap year to your regional counselor?

I emailed admissions about it but they never got back to me. I also emailed my regional counselor twice and no answer. Communication is really lacking here! I wonder if this is how it is when people actually enroll there.
