Today I was accepted into the Pre-Communications Science program at UConn, which was very exciting and unexpected. I wasn't expecting an answer back from UConn until March, along with my UDel and Binghamton decisions. I was deferred from Binghamton back in January, and UDel doesn't have EA admissions. Do you think its worth waiting for these decisions? or should i put in my enrollment deposit for UConn?

The only reason why I’m in a rush is because I know that submitting your deposit early helps with housing. And thanks maejay, but their website is udel. edu, so thats why i referred to it as that.

I would say if you feel that you really liked UConn and felt so enamored with it that you wouldn’t mind excluding other schools, you can enroll. What you wrote right now doesn’t seem like a particularly good reason.

I’m not too familiar with UConn housing since I didn’t go there as a freshman, but I had thought that they process housing applications over the summer (meaning all you have to do is apply on time).

@chirstyeileen You are guaranteed housing for your freshman year, so as long as you apply for it on time you will be fine. As a freshman unless you are living in a learning community the dorm you get will be randomly selected for you. You will receive your rooming assignment and your roommate around the beginning of August.

Thank you invader! Very helpful. I guess my next question is if either delaware or Binghamton are so much better of schools then uconn that I should hold out for those decisions. Because I’ve visited uconn and I love it.

Personally I was just admitted to the Honors program, Im applying to ND, Bucknell, among other very prestigious schools and still may pick Uconn. So if I was choosing I would pick Uconn over the other 2 without a second thought. That being said, everyone likes different colleges differently from others. I think Uconn is the best academically, better campus, and better opportunities, but don’t submit your housing deposit until you are absolutely sure! You are guaranteed housing so dont worry!
