My daughter is also still waiting on an Honors decision. Her portal changed from “end of March” to “four weeks” yesterday and the link to Taste of UD was added. Not sure what any of that means! Guess she will continue to wait!
Daughter received a wait-list letter at the end of February and received a “more official” wait-list update from the UD portal last night. The portal requested a response to accept or reject a position on the wait-list. It states that UD will notify her between May 1 and June 1 if she is accepted!
After doing a little research, I learned that one thing she can do to increase her chance of being offered a spot is to let them know she does not need any financial assistance. She is very fortunate to have her full tuition paid for by a Trust. Can anyone help me with:
- how do you word a letter letting them know that no financial assistance is needed for her to attend the school
- how should this information be communicated - upload to the portal or send email to Admissions?
I would like to add that the portal states that information requested by the school can be uploaded to the portal. I don’t want to upload “non-requested information” if this will reflect negatively on her.
Thanks, in advance, for any advice.
@President2132, my son applied undeclared in Arts and Sciences. He checked the portal Wednesday afternoon and there was nothing. Then, last night at about 11:00 he saw he had an email from UD. The email welcomed him to the honors program and had info about special honors session on accepted students day on April 8th. He then went to the portal and the confetti and streamers were back with a link to the Taste of UD days. He already did accepted students day in February, but he is going to one of the Taste of UD days as well.
Thank you and congratulations to your son! Assuming at this point that she did not get in, but the school still looks like a good fit. We are out of state and financial aid was decent… $10000 a year and work study option. Also attending admission day on 4/8.

My son just heard he was accepted to the World Scholars Program. Has anyone else heard and considering participating?
@curi12, My daughter also found out yesterday she was accepted to World Scholars (Madrid). She’s thrilled…but trying to figure out if she can do that and Honors. Guess we have to wait until next week to find out.
@lancmom, my son was not accepted into honors, however at an accepted students day, we did ask that question and were told it is possible to both. I do not believe they allowed it in the past.
D was not accepted into honors either, but UD remains appealing thanks to the reputation of the major she is seeking.
Has anyone heard any updates? Will UDEL be clearing any waitlisted students? I know they had record applicants this year…
Stoonie - my D is on U Del waitlist and has not heard anything from them. We called a couple times and, depending who picks up the phone, get a different read on the possibility of getting taken off the waitlist. Any news on your status?
I was wait listed and received an email from UD admissions yesterday saying I was admitted! Accepted into their Exercise Science program.
maxg98 - Congratulations on your UD admittance! Are you planning to enroll?
Got the offer May 17th, 5:45PM via phone and then the portal updated a day or two later.
I am on the waitlist, they said I would know by June 1st which is tomorrow. Is anybody in the same boat as me? Anyone find out any additional info as to what is going on. I am so anxious to hear my decision.
@dianaxo23 Did you get in?
I just have a question… What did your portal look like before you were admitted?
