Nope! They’ve received everything. I even emailed with someone from transfer admissions who said everything looks good. He said he doesn’t know what the hold up would be. He said I could call to see why it’s taking so long! They have transcripts, I paid app fee, and everything is accounted for, =( I might have to call.

I just got accepted!!! Im so happy right now

Ok, well that’s really weird. I applied Dec 14 and my app was sent to CLAS for a final decision in less than a month. I’m still waiting for a decision but I don’t know why mine was sent ahead but yours wasn’t.

I called yesterday, and coincidentally, when I checked today it says sent for a final decision! lol

im applying to the APK program i have a 3.3 overall GPA and a 3.6 pre req GPA.

Did all of you guys had to submit high school transcripts, even though you are transfer students?

“Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2014 term has been referred to your college for a final decision” - The final wait…! I applied on 1/20 and they got all my transcripts by 1/28.

Marissa1206, yes we had to submit our high school transcripts even though we are in fact transfer students.

Yup I had to send my high school transcripts. I was surprised too when they asked for them but I think my transcripts are pretty good.

I’m more than 5 years out of high school, so the only reason I had to send my h.s. transcripts was to show my foreign language requirement!

Actually…I can’t remember if you had to be 5 years out or a bit longer. lol

I forgot I started this thread! Ahh!

Well. Good news, I got in about two months ago! Woohoo!!!

Palm Beach State College, Honors certificate
Current GPA: 3.89
(Pre-prof): 4.0
College/Major: College of Journalism, Advertising.
Term: Summer B, 2014

A few tips:

UF doesn’t give much weight to EC for transfers. They mostly care about your GPA.
That being said, if you have a 3.5+ you have a pretty fair shot. However, I have heard of many cases of people being denied with 3.8s and 3.9s, it all depends on how competitive the college you apply to is. CLAS, Bio, and Engineering are some of the most competitive. Schools like the college of Journalism and Communications will accept almost anyone who meets the minimum requirements, because it is far less competitive.

Good luck to everyone!

Congradulations tweety bird! When did you apply?

Thanks everyone. It’s just that I went to high school in another country and graduated in 2008 (wow it’s been so long) and I thought that transfers students didn’t need to send H.S transcripts unless they completed the foreign language requirement in high school. I obviously didn’t, that’s why I took the CLEP and got the credits while in community college.
Crystalynthe80s, what do you mean by “you had to be 5 years out or a bit longer” ?

thanks :)

I remember being told that since I’ve been out of high school since 2006 that I would only need to send my transcript from H.S. for my foreign language requirement. I know they gave me a time period, like if I had received my AA right after H.S. that I still would have had to send my H.S. transcripts so they could review that GPA as well. It was confusing. lol

Ok guys, I just got rejected by UF. I am interested to transfer there. Can someone explain to me the transfer credit policy? Im going to unf. I plan to study biomedical sciences. Do we need to meet the 60+ transfer credits by the time we apply or by the end of the year (academic)? Thanks

You need to have 60 credits by the term you want to apply for.

Alright, so I basically need to have all of the prerequisites done by the term I start. I plan to transfer as a microbiology and cell science major. How does the transfer credit system work at CLAS? Thanks

That I do not know. Sorry.

I’m currently finishing my AA and last few prereqs. I was accepted under a conditional basis.
As long as I finish these courses and receive my AA, I’m all squared away.
My understanding is that UF only accepts AA transfers, or in rare cases,
60 credit transfers.
