University of Illinois Urbana?

GPA - 3.2
ACT - 26
class rank - top 55%
extracurricular - job for two years (year round, not just summer. 12-16 hours a week), tennis freshman year (JV), ski/snowboard club.
Large improvement in grades from freshmen year to junior year. Freshman year mostly C's and B's, junior year almost all A's. No honors/AP classes (ill have on AP class senior year). All regular level classes.

I would be applying to Aerospace engineering, even though I know I wont get in. Would I make it into the General studies program at least? I will also be doing AFROTC if I can somehow get medically qualed

No, you will not get in. In the kindest way I can possibly say this, don’t even waste your time applying with a GPA and ACT that low. Sorry, it’s just not possible.

The General Studies program is not as difficult, but still out of your reach. Going to a school in Illinois that sent over 30 students to UofI, with almost 75% of the class (200) applying, we saw that majority of the accepted students had a 3.5-4.0 GPA with an ACT from 28-32.

While I agree that the OP has a poor chance, it’s still worth it to apply.
