University of Maryland C/O 2020 Discussion

Don’t know about Carillon but Easton Hall is right by Byrd Stadium (football) and is air-conditioned.

Just went to the admitted student open house today. While I only attended the information session held by the business school and spent the rest of my day with one of my friends who currently goes there right now, it definitely made me like Maryland more than I used to  Thanks @maryversity for telling me to go! I most likely would’ve bailed otherwise and not been able to experience a true taste of UMD like I did today.

I’m so glad you went and had a great time! I knew you would…

Maryversity is there a parent’s facebook page?

We went to accepted students day on Friday, I highly recommend it for students especially the ones who are still deciding. We went to the business school presentation which was awesome. Very informative and the clincher for us as parents. By the end of the day my son decided Maryland was for him! He had many other choices (We are OOS) so making an informed decision was so important.

@Mamalumper Congrats for you and your son! :)))))

Hey for the admitted student open houses, is there a spot for every single admitted student? I’m not sure if I should register until I receive my decisions from all the other schools I applied to, and I’m afraid of all of the events being filled up if I wait too long to register. If anyone knows, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

@gq2016 - I don’t think there is space for every admitted student, since about 13,000 students were admitted. ALL of the Admitted Student Open House Events are filled right now, except for the Last one.

Does anyone know how to find the U of Maryland UID number? I dont have anything except for a pin that i used to login to the application status site. I needed the 9 digit pin to register for the accepted students day and I don’t see that I ever received it. I finally just put in 111111111 and it let me register. I have to call tomorrow and try and see what my pin is but wanted to reserve a spot for the visit. ugh

@motortrend It should be on the bottom left on your acceptance letter

@gq2016 You definitely want to register before you hear back from all your other schools. If need be, you can always cancel your reservation

@gq2016 thanks. It wasn’t on my mailed acceptance letter but I just found it on my online acceptance letter.

@ClassOf2020x Thanks for the advice!

@ClassOf2020x do you know of any admitted student facebook pages, or something to help with finding roommates? I’m just curious.

@Mulciber Yes, if you search on Facebook “University of Maryland Class of 2020”, the first result which pops up is the admitted student facebook page. It should be the one that currently has around 6,000 members

When do you hear if you are receiving any merit scholarships?

Notifications went out via snail mail on Feb 25th.

Does anyone know when RD decisions come out??

@njclass2016 Usually they’ll post on their twitter which is @applymaryland the day that decisions will be released so just keep an eye out on that account.

Since I’m in the BSE Scholars program, it says that I am required to live in Centreville Hall. So in the event that I want to find my roommate instead of doing random, does my roommate also have to be in BSE? Does anybody know?

@Classof2020x. No, your roommate does not have to be in BSE to pull them in as a roommate, assuming there is an open space. Note that if you do try to pull someone in that is not BSE, you push yourself down on the list for rooms because they do make an effort to honor roommate requests. However, priority for rooms goes to BSE students. They will fill all the rooms with BSE students first, and if there is open space they will put you in wherever that is. It actually could be another building in the scholars community if there is no room in Centreville for whatever reason.
