@Sniksder16 Ouch. Sorry, don’t know what to say. You could call the admissions office and ask on Monday I guess.
HELP!
I got my acceptance online but i have become really concerned because it says that I am a non-resident when i have lived here my entire life. Even the address at the top says “…, maryland.”
what does this mean? should i be concerned?
@laudank Just email the admissions office. Likely there was a mistake in how you filled out your residency form and it’s easily fixable.
Just found out our DS is accepted in to CS for fall of 2016. Was a bit surprised - had just about given up on this one!
So you only have to submit the FAFSA to be considered for UMD federal + school aid???
Also around what time would you receive your package for an EA applicant? I just got in
Yes! You live on campus, likely with other Freshman Connection students but also mixed with other freshman and sophomores. You can attend all the games, eat meals in the cafeteria, join clubs, graduate on time, etc. And you get to sleep late for one semester - what could be bad?

FAFSA is used for need based aid. It usually turns out to be the standard loans. There may be a grant also. Merit scholarships are based on your application.
how do you know if you got into the business school? In my acceptance letter it doesn’t say anything about that but at the bottom of the page it says “Advising College: SMITH SCHOOL OF BUSINESS”
If it says “Advising College: Smith School of Business” you got accepted to Smith. Congratulations!
DD admitted with Scholars program. Does she have to accept by Feb 12 in order to stay in this program and get her choice of living communities?
Admitted to clark engineering school and scholars
UW gpa: 3.84
SAT: 1370/1600
In state
Had housing agreement
@marcymar Yes
@marcymar She needs to submit her choice of living community for Scholars by Feb 12. She does NOT have to accept her admission to UMD by then. She has until May 1.
It says that my offline recommendations weren’t received even though I called about that in December. Was that a problem for anyone? I still haven’t received my decision.
@maryversity Okay so I was accepted for Spring Admission! No worries I’m still so excited and thankful! But as I dive very deeply into freshman connection, I feel a bit like a secondary citizen? Like the steps I have to take and the whole system itself feels like it’s designed to go out of it’s way to say “You’re not a student yet” and I mean, am I still in the class of 2020 if I do freshman connection? Do I still go to orientation, I called and she said no to orientation but I think she misunderstood me, will I be considered a second semester freshman in spring of 2017 or will I always be a small step behind my peers? I feel like that idea really stresses me out. Also, how fast should I Enroll for the spring and for FC and housing ect? Like should I drop all that money asap so I get into the classes I want to take? Because I’ve planned out my (hopefully) fall semester for FC to get me on track with the 2016 fall kids but I’m worried I won’t get them (however some of them are reserved for FC) But thanks for all the help and info!
Us too, OOS NY-My son was accepted to College Park Scholars. Congrats to all of you.
@kerrycake I haven’t received my decision either, even though I had everything in on time. Try not to worry, it’ll get sorted out.
Is there any way to apply to the Honors program or ask to be bumped up from Scholars to Honors?
