Got accepted. International student, 3.54 cgpa, did a lot of things related to humanitarian relief. I wanted to major in international relations but i got offered public policy (maybe it was my mistake… i couldn’t find the IR option lol) so yea, is there any way for me to go from public policy to international relations under the department of gvmt and politics?
Finally I got a definitive answer. Internal Business Transfers should be getting their admission decision this afternoon.

@DragonFire16 Awesome! its possible we could have classes together. I applied to Cornell as my top and that’s the university I’m waiting on. I feel like there is a .02% chance of me getting in. Haha. I am expecting to get a decision hopefully in May.

@orvanik This is Leah Howell’s direct email: lhowell@umd.edu. Tell her your issue and send her your unofficial transcript, including the classes you’re taking now. She will be able to figure this out. Regardless of what ARTSYS/UMD transfer matrix says, she will have the correct answer.
welp, not gonna end up getting a decision from umd until july now. UMD had told me every time I called that i had every document in and the website said the same thing. Then I call today and ask why i didn’t get a decision and they say that they never got my college transcript??? UMD screwed me over by saying they had everything until the last minute and then Towson (where I go now) screwed me by never sending the damn transcript. This is unbelievable that I get completely screwed by two different universities. Honestly don’t even know how this is possible. I think it’s time for me to get out of Maryland in general, dear lord.
I previously met with and have been in contact with a head of department for the major I want to study in and after I emailed her about being denied she told me to definitely go through with the appeal process.
I just got my Internal Transfer Admission Decision to the Business School and I got accepted!!!

I got in contact with Katie Kluetz and she said that regardless of whether or not it transfers I need to get in contact with Nick Orban as he will be the only who can actually get the change made for my major. I will still reach out to Leah Howell just so I have the correct information for the future.

@bbe267 Thank you so much for referring Katie Kluetz. She was the answer to my prayers. She clarified my issue regarding the enrollment verification form and said I really don’t need it. She said to expect a decision by next week.

Blame could be placed upon me though - although my high school took weeks, I should probably have submitted the request earlier. I don’t think I even could appeal - I wasn’t denied. I’m just hugely bummed out because the decision will come too late to matter.
If you don’t mind me asking, what was your situation and what did this Katie person say to you exactly? All of my documents say they were received and I submitted my application 11/18 and I haven’t gotten a decision yet.
