@proudmom2012 yup i got nothing :(, i tried calling today and i was put on hold forever - i will be calling again tmrw, @eXtremous i emailed katie last friday around 4-5pm and have not receive any response yet too
I emailed katie last friday, she responded back to me within like an hour telling me my application is complete and that she’ll let me know when a decision is ready for me this week.
I just called in - and the lady told me my app was completed (dk why i didnt get any notif) and she will transfer it to the head of admissions for transfers(?), definitely call in just in case - so you can get your app “transferred” in & she said i will hear back 7-10 business days.
@orvanik have you got anything back from UMD? I am in a similar situation as you do. I am an international transfer from a 4 year university in US. I was admitted to the letters and sciences but not in the Smith school of business. I am sure that cal1 and accounting gateway courses will transfer. I was just not sure whether my statistic class will transfer because my school offers statics in two semester, and the transfer database has a footnote saying “two courses satisfy one course at UMD.” I emailed the admission department my case and I didn’t get any reply.
Does anyone know whether computer science major is a LEP or not. I kinda just want to go for computer science now.
Lol yeah when I called friday they told me to email katie because she’s the head person for transfer documents. So she got all my stuff together and responded to me.
I GOT ACCEPTED!!!
I got accepted to Clark School of Engineering!
@umdquestion123 My friend is in computer science and no, it’s not an LEP
I’m so upset and confused. I got an email from someone named Louise saying “your application was complete by the priority deadline, so I will send it to a transfer counselor to see if it can be reviewed as priority. You will be notified by email in 7-10 days if this is the case.” But the enrollment fees for the other college I got accepted to is due this Saturday, so if I don’t enroll at Towson and wait for the decision, I might not get into UMD then I would have nowhere to go in the fall. But if I do enroll then find out I got into UMD a week later I would be so upset, because UMD is my number one.
It just makes no sense because she said I had everything completed by the deadline, so basically this is all happening for no actual reason. I lost my opportunity for no reason.
Yeah thats what happened to me also. As soon as I found out that “all priority transfer decisions” were supposed to have been released last thursday I immediately called and found out what the issue was for me not getting a decision and the lady that answered got me in contact with Katie. I wish they would’ve re-reviewed everyones app so that people who didn’t catch what happened immediately wouldn’t be left in situations like yours. like your education is not a joke & figuring things out isnt easy. i pray they do better.
@gn31997 - call again and explain the deadline situation. Surely they can act on it more quickly in this circumstance.
Accepted yesterday. Anyone know when they will release financial aid info?
did you guys know that if you got denied transfer for Fall 2017 you can’t then apply for MTAP for the same semester?
Hello Everyone!
I, like some of you, didn’t receive anything on the day the priority decisions were released. After many days of stressing and phone calls I received my decision today. I was told similar things- Admissions was doing “cleanup” of the applications that fell through the cracks, and would get a decision to me in in the next two weeks. Though apprehensive about whether or not the admission folks were telling the truth, they did indeed pull though Everyone’s situation is different; in my case I was participating in MTAP with my application and supporting documents all in by the priority deadline. If you are in a similar boat as I was you will most likely hear back soon!! Just thought I would put forth my experience in an effort to ease some troubled minds. Cheers!
It’s been awhile since the last post but I was wondering if there’s a group for international students who are coming in this Fall as transfer students? Having trouble looking for roommates
Does anyone know our chances as transfer students to get housing?
@trippyykingg Idk I’m number 20 out of 240 on the waitlist not sure what the chances will be
@bbe267 I’m number 191 out of 241 so my chances are pretty slim to none. might have to consider off campus housings like the courtyards or south commons
I sent in my transcript, and after being told numerous times that I will have priority, I am now being told that I am just a “regular” student, and I no longer have “priority”. Also, all on campus housing is 100% filled up according to Res Life, and they pretty much said “not our problem”. After being told I will hear back Mid-June, I will now apparently hear back in Mid-July. UMD: the most dysfunctional admissions department there is. I’m not sure if I even want to attend there anymore after I see the way they run things.
