My D submitted Oct 10, it finally started trickling in from common app today. I emailed yesterday and they said as long as it’s in common app you’re good. Also fyi it comes in weird…like “unknown sender” for transcript but then a few hours later it has the high school name right.
ahh strange, that I still cannot see it. I will resend an email to them tonight and attempt to call, how stressful is this journey
Yep and UMD definitely the slowest of our 15! Give it til Monday if you can, it should catch up.
we submitted EA appl to UMICH and apparantly they are slow too, so probably few universities are slower than others, these are the only 2 we have been having issues so far
Thank you for your response, Good luck to you !!
You too!My daughter’s UMich was submitted 10-10 and portal cleared yesterday so you should be close!
Thank you !! that info helps.
But as long as you submit everything by 11/1 it’s okay right?
Thy told me as long as it’s submitted to common app by deadline it’s fine. I wanted to give it a cushion though just in case of glitch.
If you submitted email to their admissions email you may get automated response but they have been extremely responsive and we’ve gone back and forth a few times with questions. Like I said, some documents showed as downloaded for us and it turned out there was a technical issue that still needed to be addressed. I do suggest getting email verification from them that they actually have all documents submitted.
This link has the new criteria for CS internal transfers
Share your thoughts on whether we should submit a 30 ACT composite score with the following breakdown: 32-Math, 28-Science, 25-English 34-Reading? WGPA- 4.16. Extracurriculars are two sports he has been playing since he was little. No awards, no accolades, minimal volunteering, a run of the mill boy who likes to pay video games and write code for one of them.
Son is applying for computer science from a top public school in Montgomery County. I mention he is coming from a top school because other students from his school will likely have much higher GPAs than he has, and UMD will only admit so many students from a particular school.
UMD’s ACT range for fall 2022 across all majors was 31-34. It was likely higher for CS applicants. I would suggest applying test optional.
No !!!
Can he take again and focus on science.
But no. Math and science are both too low.
55% submitted per the last CDS although likely more for CS. But the two most important scores are both too low so I’d go without.
No, do not submit.
Does the portal show complete and in review or does it just show all things received on the three different tabs so you can assume it is complete?
It should say complete in the box at top of portal page

As a parent of a Freshman Terp, I can confirm that FB group is an outstanding resource. I’m in that group from last year (it rolled over for fall 2024 applicants).
thank you!
Wow, they make it harder to get into LEP now.
