Getting into the school is not what I'm worried about, it's moreso the scholarship opportunities? Do they give you money without even applying for scholarships? And do they have scholarships for MA/Ph.D studies?

The school itself is exactly what I want, but I know it's scholarships that I'm relying on.

This is a whole different ball game from admissions and funding for undergraduate studies. To get a better handle on it, you should visit the grad school forum. You can reach it by clicking on "College Discussion" at the upper left of this page, and then scrolling down.

And yes, U of MD at College Park does have funding for grad school, but how much, and the types of support (teaching assistantship, research assistantship, tution waiver, etc.) varies from one department to another.

"Do they give you money without even applying for scholarships?"

At a minimum, you have to check the box that says you would like financial aid. At that point, there are some scholarships that require no additional application form.

Well, I know that I will not be receiving financial aid based on need because I'm "too rich" according to the government. However, there is no way in hell that we can afford it.
