I am presently making my college decision, and I am wondering if anyone could touch upon UMiami's old reputation of "SuntanU" hurting job chances in the northeast corridor? Thank you!

Honestly, it certainty won’t give you an edge over a lot of the competitive northeast universities. However, I think pretty much all of the east coast now is more aware that Umiami is “SuntanU” no more. It is a respected school, and I suspect its reputation and rank will only rise in the coming years.

I was in the UM business program which was very good, but whenever I talked to adults, especially older ones, they would make fun of me for being at “SuntanU”. It’s a shame because UM is the 44th school in the country, yet it has a bad reputation because of it’s location.
