University of Miami class of 2022

i used to see “Inquiry access denied.”

@sss111222 Mine says that too! before, it showed that there was nothing and said “not available” now it shows something for Miami 2019 but says “Inquiry Access Denied”

My canelink has some new tabs under financial aid (I think). Do yours have 4 tabs: view financial aid, accept/decline awards, satisfactory academic progress, and cost of attendance?

I only have view financial aid and accept/decline awards

Mine only has the first 2, which it always had, not the satisfactory academic progress and COA though

@20182022 I think what you see depends on if you are looking at the full site cane link vs the mobile site cane link- on the mobile site there are 4 tabs under financials (the four you mentioned), on the Full site cane link there are 2 links under the Finances/ Financial aid: View Financial Aid and Accept Decline Awards.

Oh, that could be it. I usually go on the full site so that’s probably why I thought they were new. Thanks! @Mom2NND

Canelink seems rather flaky. And the data seems to fluctuate. For the longest time on the “full site”, in the Message Center I’d see the the message about “your application is complete”… then I stopped seeing that… then it came back, and now it’s gone again, BUT in the “mobile site”, the message is there. Honeslty, the “mobile site” is much nicer looking, especially in a desktop browser.

Is Jan 14 the date we are supposed to hear?

I don’t think so? Where’d you hear that? @A1A1A1

Does the school you applied to and your intended major affect your chances of getting accepted into the university?

they only accept so many people to that certain school/major so it matters but probs not a deciding factor @mileshaley5

@mileshaley5 Choice of major has an enormous effect because some majors are much more competitive and because they are looking for your application stats and interests to demonstrate potential in the requested major. Some schools make it easy to change majors once you are there while others it can be a real hassle, especially if you are trying to change to something like computers or engineering.

It is very hard to say as UM is getting more competitive (due to the success of the sports teams) and merit aid is being cut. Your GPA/ACT score should probably get you on the short list for one of the big scholarships, but after that who knows? Texas is a popular location for UM students so your demographics won’t help you there. Good luck.

Could decisions be released this coming week?

Yes @20182022 decisions will be coming out exactly one week from now. January 20th. Good luck everyone!
