University of Miami class of 2022

I’m gonna call them today, this is ridiculous

https://admissions.miami.edu/undergraduate/application-process/options-and-deadlines/freshman-options-and-deadlines/index.html

The attached link has conflicting information within the span of 6 inches of screen space. First it says: “EARLY ACTION (EA) is our early, non-binding application option. EA applicants will receive admission decisions in late January.” Then directly below under the list of Deadlines for EA it says: “Admission Notification Early February”

Pretty lame that Miami would change the notification date this late in the game through a website update and not an email blast to applicants. We all understand that delays happen but this just smacks of someone trying to draw as little attention to the slip as possible. Even lamer is that they can’t even proofread the update to the site to make sure that it does not contradict itself. I’m sure that an applicant would be skewered for such sloppiness.

That’s really irritating. And makes them look like they don’t have their act together.

Miami needs to get their act together. I’ve never heard of a college that releases EA results in February… u might as well consider us EDll or RD applicants. This is ridiculous.

if they are releasing them later they should let us know by email or something . Like we all thought it was late January so most of us don’t check the website again & now they just change it out nowhere

Can someone call ? I’m at school and can’t call yesterday I did and they said late jan

I can’t call but I emailed my regional rep

I just called admissions. They said it means before February. Probably this week or latest early next week. Let’s hope for this week!! Signed #helicoptermom

The website now shows late January, early February for notification.

I think everyone needs to relax and take a deep breath. Good luck!

Wow they cannot get it together

While I can understand the heightened level of anxiety, the University of Miami has yet to fail to deliver by their end of January time frame. I would reserve judgement until then. It has been the speculation by some who were100% sure of various release dates that has made the waiting more tense than needed for the applicants.

What will happen is that some kids will lose their excitement for Miami. Another school will make them an offer and the kid will get psyched up over that school. When the Miami offer does come in - it wont mean as much and the school will lose that kid.

it is coming out january 29

@sss111222 How do you know?

my counselor called a few min ago and they told her

him*

Also, keep in mind, it seems like every top university has record number of applicants this year. They are trying to figure out who really wants in, who will say yes and who “threw an application over the wall”. All of these universities realize how much money a high ranking means nowadays so they are all playing the game (ED1, ED2, financial aid, yield, etdc.) The game takes time.

Does Miami provide the merit scholarship award at the time of acceptance??

@Living61 You’re not wrong but I find it hard to feel sorry for colleges because they have made it this way due to their lack of transparency in admissions. They made their bed, better lie in it.
