University of Miami class of 2022

@sdteak I totally agree with you on all counts (especially about Hurricane Irma) and despite the less than stellar communication otherwise, my D loves it there and couldn’t be happier that she chose it! As I said earlier, it is all about what is important to you.

Does anyone know on average what percentage of early action students get accepted, I can’t find it anywhere?

@Cw82200 It’ll probably be the same rate as RD since it’s not binding

They just confirmed that decisions will be released in early Feb via the um admissions instagram story

Yeah I just checked and verified @jerus3 and their insta does say early February, so much for “early” action

yup yay fun. hopefully early feb is like feb 1st

What’s their Instagram handle?

Edit: Nevermind I found it

So when you call they say Late January, on Instagram it says Early February, on their website it says both. I’m beyond baffled at this point.

Waiting for these results are so nerve wracking. It’s crazy because next Friday, I’m going to their honor band festival for their school of music and who knows when they’ll come out!!!

what is their instagram handle?

@dreamchaser2k18 its umadmission

Thanks @jackd341

it’s been confirmed tha decisions have been delayed until early February. On their Instagram page someone commented and you can see their response confirmining that it’s early February.

Well at this point there’s no realistic chance I’ll be attending. I have no desire to go to a school this unprofessional and irresponsible. Next it’ll change from early February to mid February. Or their definition of early Feb is probably Feb 10-15 not Feb 1-5

If you guys don’t want to go, withdrawal your applications.

I paid for the app fee so I’m going to see how it plays out. If they give me a good merit scholarship I’ll definitely reconsider but I’m fairly confident they won’t beat what Tulane gave me.

Unfortunately, many schools have issues with their admission decisions. I clearly remember Tulane sending out a bunch of acceptances last year to students who should not have been accepted at that time. I understand taking into account the release of admissions process when determining what school you will choose, but I will advise that it is probably not the factor that made you want to attend that school in the first place so remember those other factors before making a decision.

You’re right that Tulane made that mistake, but as soon as it happened they profusely apologized and explained what happened on their admissions blog. They took responsibility for their actions.
It’s not just about their admissions timing. It’s about the lack of transparency, communication and responsibility.

I agree @Kd6410 and that is why it is a factor you want to consider when making your decision, but to put in perspective given all of the other factors that might want to make you choose a school. (Plus, although Tulane did apologize, the mistake definitely affected how many other people they accepted for their fall semester who would have been qualified had they not had to offer spring admission to the people they mistakenly accepted.)

it’s still late january lol withdraw your apps if a date effects you that much

@strafed I’ve already replied to that
