University of Miami Vs. UCSC for Oceanography Master

Hey guys, I’m accepted to the University of Miami and UCSC for their master programs in Oceanography. But I’m not quite familiar with either of them. Does anyone know how are these two in terms of academic, school life, or the campuses?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

The Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences is not only one of the best oceanographic schools in the country, it is also one of the lead research institutions for marine environmental related issues. It truly is a fantastic program to be a part of and I hope one day get to go. Many of the graduates from RSMAS have gone on to be top scientists of oceanography producing the information that the is used in policy making and additional projects. Miami is just beautiful overall and the opportunity to study it’s marine nature is like no other!

Both are great schools and well known for oceanography. A little poking around at rankings (THE, NRC) shows that UCSC is slightly higher ranked than Miami but probably not in a way that makes a giant difference in post-college opportunities.

UCSC has a reputation for being pretty liberal and politically active. Big emphasis on environmentalism and sustainability.
