My D was admitted EA. We are out of state. Can we expect any merit money or would we have heard by now?
@quadaces How is her stat? You may PM me. It is near the end of merit aid notice.
@quadaces, I was wondering the same thing. We were hoping for some merit $$,too. DD was EA admit. OOS female aerospace engineering major. Was invited for Leadership Weekend and received a handwritten postcard about how DDs application was “one of the very best”. Kinda hoped that would translate into some $$.
Financial aid is the primary focus at UofM and only recently more plentiful for OSS students. Merit based tuition discounting as scholarships has never been plentiful.

Hi everybody this might have been discussed before. I was defered ea and I was wondering when Rd decision will be out as some of my friends have got in but I had no communication from umich. So I wanted to know approximately by when do they post all decisions.
@Tennisboy2022 Between Feb and early April. Have you check the Wolverine Access lately?
@billcsho yes i have
Not true. I did a college enrichment program this summer. The whole group got to speak with an admissions counselor and ask questions. She gave us notecards to fill out with all of our names to put in the system, to ensure they had records of our visit/trip. Most colleges keep track of who has visited in their file of that person.
Does UMich release decisions in batches as some of my friends got in. I haven’t heard back yet.
@Tennisboy2022 They do release in batches. I was deferred and then was accepted on Feb. 2. A lot of my friends got in during the second wave of acceptances at the beginning of March. There are some more waves of releases coming up in the next few weeks.
I received my financial aid package already but is there a way to what part of this is CSS/FAFSA or merit-based?
I’m not sure if this has been asked before or if it’s obvious but I can’t seem to figure this out…
@heretoparty98 You should see the scholarship and grant in the gift aid section near the top. Then you would from the loan and work study in the self help section in the middle. If you have any merit scholarship, you should+ have received another award letter. Most students do not have merit scholarship though.
Just FYI- my daughter’s merit/scholarship aid has not shown up in the FA document yet. It hasn’t been revised since the initial release. You EFC which is based on the FAFSA/CSS is listed but in another section on WA from what I remember, it is kind of confusing.
The first revised FA package will likely send in May. As they would focus on the first estimate FA package for the recently admitted students first.
When we read our FA package, we were concerned about future revisions. So I talked to aid office directly and were advised that we provided all information and someone with in aid office has already review it and therefore our FA package is final.
I assume you already provided FA with your tax transcript and w-2 forms then? We received the FA document and then 2 days later was notified separately of a scholarship. The scholarship is still not reflected on the FA package for us yet and we just sent in the tax and w-2 documents. I was told to expect a revision soon. I guess it depends on the situation.
@DBY2017 we provided all the documents that FA office had asked us, it has been a while believe it happened between late Jan to Mid Feb time frame. We received only FA notice in late Feb. My DC was EA applicant and admission decisions came on 12/20.
It depends if your need will be met or not. As the CoA for next year yet, the FA package cannot be final. That’s why it said estimated on the top.
