University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

I am currently a junior in high school and like many, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is my first choice. If admitted into LSA, I hope to attend their Ross business school my sophomore or junior year. Here are my current credentials as well as future credentials I plan to pursue my senior year. I am unfortunately out of state.

GPA: 3.76 Unweighted, 4.43 Weighted
SAT: 1860 with little studying, hoping for a 2200+
Nationality: Asian

EC's:

*Awarded for regional and county accomplishments in volleyball
*President of Key Club

AP courses:
Psychology
Calculus AB
Macro/Microeconomics
English Language
English Literature
Spanish V
Statistics (possibly next year)

Recommendations and essays should be solid.

I also want to apply to New York University, University of Virginia, University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and University of Florida.

If you can improve your SAT, I think your chances are very good.

You are junior already. Your GPA is below the admission average of 3.85 and your current SAT is far below the acceptable range. Unless you can boost your SAT scores by 300-400 points, it is very high reach for you. Unless you are already getting close to your 2200 target score in practice, it is very hard to improve 300-400 points in SAT within a few months, although it is not impossible. For Ross, you either apply for pre-admission as freshmen or enter as sophomore. It is very competitive either way.

For some reason I thought he meant Flint…

Your EC’s are pretty good, although your GPA is a little low. With a 2200, maybe a match. With an 1860, mid reach.

Chance back

Even without specifying Ann Arbor, no one would refer to Flint or Dearborn directly by University of Michigan. And obviously, Ross is in Ann Arbor campus.

I had been researching Flint as a safety school, so it was in my mind.
