student government president, volleyball captain, NHS member, 3 ap’s (us history, biology, art history), member of 4 clubs, did a student exchange in france, volunteer at a shelter for 2 years now, have secondary legacy from my grandpa, and am OOS from New York.
thank you!
I’m going to guess deferral. After that…crapshoot depending on what they see in your app that strikes them. Yes, scores/GPA low. But you just don’t know what will strike them in your app to take a second look.
if you email them telling them you will 100% go if you get in (given that you’re deferred), theyll probably accept you right after
I would like to say deferred as well considering you’re coming from out of state. Best of luck, decisions came out today!
My friend with a lower GPA and much lower test scores got into the STAMPs program at U of M. The biggest difference here is that she is Latino and from a rural school. I’m from the same school with better GPA/test scores, and was accepted- with the catch of having to go the Summer Bridge Program. I think it’s important to keep in mind that one of the biggest things at U of M is diversity, and they want a diverse set of students- yes they want the elite, but there are always the people who are “average” that they still accept to make the campus diverse.
