University of Michigan Class of 2023 - Deferred Applicants

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but can someone please opine on timing of decisions once the “View Decision” link disappears? Are we talking hours or days or weeks?

My sons view decision tab went down sometime within the last 3 hours. He is COE OOS. Excitement here in our house, just hope it’s not premature. Best of luck to all.

Mines still up. NICE!

@JBStillFlying Not 100% sure on this, but looking at last year’s thread it appears as if disappearing “View Decision” links followed with a new one sometime in the following 24 hours, most likely sooner. My best bet would be 12pm EST tonight

Are decision tabs going to continue to disappear or is it done changing for the night? Does anyone know?

if my decision tab is still there is there no hope for acceptance in the next wave?

@justtrynagetin1 I wouldn’t say that; there are still going to be multiple additional waves of decisions in the next few months

in the predicted next wave (tomorrow)

I’d love some clarity from those of you whose decision tabs have disappeared: would you please let us know if your deferral letter asked for mid-year grades and if so, whether those were already downloaded by UM (that info is under Recommenders tab for UM in the common app) and when. Trying to determine whether my son has any shot of a decision tonight (his tab is still up) in light of the fact that his semester grades were only sent yesterday. Thanks!

Are all of the missing “view decisions tabs” that you are referring to from those who are deferred or waiting and initial decision? I am waiting on Ross decision after being admitted EA. However my view decision tab is missing from the Ross application space.

decision tab gone, oos cali LSA. I had the good deferral letter (asked for midyear etc) and sent a loci on 1/8, which was responded to with a generic email telling me to “be open to other options” a day later. midyear grades were made available and were downloaded on 1/15 and were put into the system on 1/16.

@BizBoundMama My decision tab is gone and yes, my deferral letter did ask for mid-year grades! However, my semester ended today so they have not been sent. I was deferred from LSA OOS.

You all are talking about your UM portal…did you receive a student ID # that allowed you to access this? And if so, did it come via email or mail. My son got deferred on early application but only received the email telling him.

@profemac Nobody in this thread is already admitted and talking about Ross decisions. The tab we are talking about is the tab that contained your initial acceptance to LSA. In this thread we didn’t get an acceptance and that tab is a deferral letter.

@nadocrasin Did you notice if those whose tabs disappeared in past years were eventually accepted?

@leo1963 when you son first applied he should have received an e-mail explaining how to access his portal. It was quite complicated, as I recall! For my kid that came within a few days after he applied in early Jan. It had his U-M ID # and a link to begin the process of viewing his portal. Here is the link:

@outofthet Not 100% sure… most of what I read was people posting after acceptances, claiming their “View Decision” tab had disappeared hours beforehand. By no means does this guarantee that all people with disappeared tabs will be accepted, and vice versa.

^ In fact, the RD candidates don’t have a “view decision” tab either LOL. What it probably means is that they’ve wiped the previous decisions and will reload new ones. Whether the news is good or bad remains to be seen for each and every one.

If you don’t have a decision tab disappear. can you still get a decision?

If anyone sent mid-year reports in, did any of you receive confirmation under the “View Credentials” link on the portal? I sent mine on January 11, but no confirmation. I am worried my counselor didn’t do it, regardless of me asking MULTIPLE times. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
