probably has to do with being one of the better public universities around that sort of has it all. sports stronghold, academically selective, rigorous curricula, and great overall vibe.
Speaking of showing interest… I sent an email to my regional representative expressing my love for UMich and how it is my number one school around a week and a half ago. I received a response thanking me for showing my interest, but is there any chance that this will affect, benefit or alter my EA decision at this point??
ive been sending so many emails as well. i’m praying it works. go blue, hail to the victors!
Don’t over send emails… More on this after I finish my meeting.
@“AeroSpace Enthusiast” we would consider ourselves lucky if son gets into Ross!
is it easier to get into kinesiology than LSA?
@TheFrenchChef For a history major, UMich is a better choice, but UIUC is the stronger school for computer science as it is one of the best CS schools in the country. Michigan is too, but UIUC is ranked higher on US News and csrankings. Still, the difference is negligible.
There are many theories on sending letters of interest to your regional person for Michigan. If you did this correctly then that person would of already had at least one contact with you. Not now days before the results are coming out or panic emails to let them know it’s your dream school/number 1 etc. Put yourself in their shoes.
At this point wait for the results this week. If you get deferred then write a short but to the point letter of continued interest. Some will say wait for your semester grades to be sent then send the letter.
My sons school told the kids to do this right after finding out the results. His was the number one school in our state.
Hopefully you met them at a school fair, went to a regional meeting or actually visited the school. Some like my son met with professors at Michigan. That stuff was put in a letter to the regional person prior to these results… Get it… IE: after visiting with Professor X I am more convinced that I can reach my educational and social goals at the University of Michigan… Etc…
If you did some of this and were deferred you can still state “while I am disappointed with this latest news, I am committed to going to the University of Michigan to begin my educational journey with like minded students”. Happy Holidays… Go Blue". Or whatever works for you. If you met with someone then put it in there.
@laxlover11 Yes, The School of Kines is a lot easier to get into.

Look towards the end for stats.
does the school of kinesiology generally accept most of their class ea or is it like LSA where most people are deferred?
I have been watching this for 2 wks now, so nervous. My sat was 670E/780M and 720E/730M, I know they don’t superscore, but should I have a better chance than someone only has a 1450 (assuming everything else is the exact same). I also got 800 in math level 2, any chances they will just ignore the 730 in math and consider me as a 1500 student?? thanks for the help in advance.
Michigan doesn’t superscore but will take all sent scores into account. So they kinda peak at it. But they only take your highest final score.
when is EA results will come out?
@bambi253 on Wednesday.
Is Wednesday the 19th at 3PM ET confirmed? And if so, how do we check the application decision? Is it through wolverine access?
There isn’t any official UMich confirmation or communication which confirms 12/19 3:00 PM EST as the date UMich will release of EA decisions. But here’s the last 7 years:
Also, I believe @SingingBusDriver, to be a UM admissions insider, and he or she has stated here that Wednesday 12/19 is THE date. Just a couple more days.
@collegestress2k18 I’m in the same boat. Got the conformation email but no portal login info. It may have coem into my spam folder and been deleted since I didn’t see it until after over 30 days, but well, it’s certainly not there right now. I’ve decided to try and call them today, but I have a feeling there’s gonna be along waiting time since they’ll be swamped with calls, so close to the decisions date.
@dodosaredead so email them then. Could if done that last night then they could of responded when going through their emails.
@DodosAreDead, my son didn’t receive his portal information either. He called this morning and didn’t have any trouble getting the information and logging on.
