University of Michigan Class of 2023 Early Action

Definitely won’t get an acceptance, but hoping maybe for a deferral….

hcmom65 They were released last year at 3:00pm EST (on the portal; for many people, emails came later).

Cook County high school… Hmmmm… North or South side and is it a selective enrollment one? I live in Chicago and just thinking which one… Lol @skieurope

Does having a pending application at SMTD make it more likely to defer EA application so that the two applications can be decided together?

@Knowsstuff I would hope the students at the selective enrollment schools could/would find more productive use of their time.

when do EA decisions come out?

they are projected to come out tomorrow at 3 EST @finn1313

How will we be able to check our status and will we be notified when decisions are out via email

@bbq5ue you will e notified by email; however, decisions are released on the Wolverine Access portal before emails are sent out. Your best bet will be to keep an eye on the portal-- or this thread bc we will be all over it

Portal at 3:00 EST on 12/19. My kid’s email followed about 10-11 hours later.

@skieurope… I would think so also…my son went to Nscp and They don’t seem to get wrapped up in all of this. Only us parents seem to… Ha

I hope everyone gets the result they are hoping for

I’m so nervous omg. I just got into notre dame on friday but Michigan is higher on my list. I am worried that as an OOS applicant it will be harder to get into LSA. fingers crossed!

Girl, if you got into Notre Dame you have a pretty solid chance at Umich. If you get deferred, consider it a compliment ;^)

My daughter never got portal info and of coarse no way to get in touch with them now…

just got deferred from BC so really hoping Mich pulls through! Applying to BCN major LSA. Good luck to all!

Yes, on an overall basis (EA and RD), an OOS applicant will have a lower acceptance rate than in-state (19% vs. 41%).

Good luck though, ND is a great “backup.” BTW, ND comes to Ann Arbor next season for a football game in October 2019.

Is the consensus that it’s likely tomorrow at 3pm?

@FrenchHorn240 It’s not likely. It IS tomorrow at 3 PM EST.

I love Michigan, but it is so hard to get into. Super Uber reach for me with a 30 ACT and only 27 ACT math applying for engineering… expecting a deferral but it’s okay.

is it hard to get into LSA ED from OOS
