University of Michigan Class of 2023 Regular Decision

I have made a decision to accept one of these offers. I would like to see if you would have made the same selection. All four options are amazing and I feel so fortunate. I would like to pursue a career in management consulting. Which option would you have chosen and why?

1.University of Michigan Ross Business School I was selected as a preferred admit.

2.UCLA (Pre Business Economics).

3.UC Berkeley Haas Business School Global Management Program (GMP). Also, got the Regents Scholarship.

  1. Emory University (Pre Business) with the hope of transferring to the Goizueta Business School.

Accepted in School of Nursing (RD)
OOS asian female

@itiznotfare personally i don’t know anything about the uc’s ross is better ranked than goizueta. and at emory, it’s really no fun at all so i would strike that off my list because i want to have some fun and experience parties, emory isn’t really good for that. and also emory’s food is bad coming from many undergrad

michigan is in a beautiful city and is that perfect college experience

@ishmuk7707 3.86 is not now, nor has it ever been, a “bad gpa.” It saddens me that we have been brought to that. :frowning:

For those asking about timelines…I don’t know if this will be helpful, but I’ll post it anyway.

My son applied EA.

Application received 10/28/18
Decision (accepted) 12/19/18
Official Financial Aid Award Notice 2/28/19

I don’t know if there is a “typical” time frame regarding when FA notices go out, but this was our experience.

Does anyone know long it takes UMich to send out financial aid award letter after being admitted. And are they generous with OSS kids.

Michigan is concerned about over-enrollment and this, combined with a significant growth in applications and historically high yields, is causing more students to be waitlisted (and rejected outright). Alas, Michigan is now becoming a university where even the highest stats doesn’t guarantee admission. I suspect the fact that Michigan now has very good FA for OOS students is also driving up applications. When we visited, they were promoting the Provost Awards for OOS students with family incomes below $65K and saying how such students would attend essentially for free.

when does rd come out

@UMICHCSLSA. It depends on your financial circumstances, so it’s hard to say. Most that get financial grants seem to be happy for OOS. Just to throw out a number but around $25,000 seems to be a typical amount I hear a lot around here but again your circumstances might warrant more /less.

Hi congrats on nursing! Can you please share your gpa and act scores? I’m applying next year.

did applicants who applied RD get their decisions back???

$30,000 plus would be a good fit. Struggling with grant/loan and scholarship offers at top choice schools so far. Getting in to honors left and right but the Top schools have been tightening up around the EFC tightly and it’s making it hard to pick any one.

Hoping Michigan comes through as it has a very desirable PPF degree a great Mock Trial Team and fits across the board. It hurts when money gets in the way of happiness.

I called today and the Financial Aid takes about 2 to 3 weeks depending on if they need anything or not.

It’s going to come down to the wire…

Be patient and plan for several outcomes and be decided.

Enjoy and Good Luck Peeps.

Has anyone who applied to the Music Matters Big Thinkers Scholarship heard back yet? Or the four-year renewable scholarship?

@mutaz600 WE are in CA, but very interested in UMICH for Music. Seems the financial aid and merit aid is rolling out a bit more slowly for UMICH… Did not know about Music Matters Big Thinkers but found it online. Will save for future. Can you tell me the Four Year Renewable scholarship you are talking about?
I know merit aid for music is often renewable–
