@natcat9 From what I heard, Wolverine Access just shows if you were Accepted or Rejected. I doesn’t update if you have been deferred.
@acceptableName First, rejection in EA rarely happens. Second, both admission and deferral would be shown on WA.
Deferrals do not show up on wolverine access, I was deferred on friday I got the email but there is nothing on WA
@majorkey101, You’re right…
Here’s info from UMich’s website that tells you how you’ll be notified:
Admit: email, hard copy letter, web app status
Defer: email
Deny: email, web app status
If you’re deferred, you only get the email.
Has anyone from NC area emailed rep yet? I did and got automated response. He’ll be out til Jan 11. I heard mich has another round of decisions coming out late January… is there anyone else I can email my letter of interest to?
If you get accepted to Michigan, do you just get a hard copy letter or other cool stuff like jackets and all as well?
@KingTahska You will receive a hard copy letter, although I don’t know about jackets and stuff. It would be really cool though…
@KingTahska Lol I wish they’d send us jackets! The only thing in the mail that you’ll get is a letter. If you end up going to UMich, they give out some free stuff at orientation
How soon will we get the hard copy letter?
I got deferred from CoE with a 3.88 gpa, no grades lower than an A-.
they asked for my semester grades — will they most likely reject me if one of my grades this year is a B?
deferred from LSA with 3.68 uw and 32 ACT, what are my chances of acceptance if my semester grades are ok but not great?
@whej123 From what I’ve heard, U-Mich recalculates GPA so that: A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0. So if you received no grades less than an A-, it would have been a 4.0 to them. I guess it depends what class you received a B in.
If I have not gotten any email yet and my wolverine access hasn’t been updated does that mean I got rejected? I’m just very confused because everyone else I know who applied to UM has gotten their decision already, and I am the only one who hasn’t heard anything yet.
@traw2016 no, it means that your application is still in review and they will inform you of their decision by the 24th.
Is anyone else here waiting to hear a decision from Stamps?
Is there the possibility that you don’t get anything by the 24th? If so what do you do because I’m still waiting for anything to come in and wa hasn’t updated
@PotatoSalad If it makes you feel better to spread the old canard that they don’t accept people they fear will get into Ivy League colleges, go ahead but it has zero basis in reality. Several people at my OOS private school who got into an Ivy and UM. Yield doesn’t affect their rating that much and frankly, UM isn’t that worried.
@Parent1337 That’s how it goes with holistic admissions. We’ve had people at our school get accepted by Harvard and rejected by UM and UC Berkeley. It all depends on the reader(s) of the applications. But frankly if your daughter has been accepted by Stanford, I wouldn’t be too worried.
@ShouldBeWorking The Ivy League universities are notoriously unpredictable. I wouldn’t place too much emphasis on receiving a 35 or 36. Harvard rejected 4000 applications with SATs above 2300 last year. It admitted 9% of valedictorians. Just read these boards–there are tons of kids with 4.0 GPAs and 2300 SATs who get rejected from ALL their Ivy choices. Holistic admissions makes it impossible to predict how you will fare.
While we recognize this is not the answer that you were hoping to hear, perhaps particularly so because of your family ties with the University, your application remains under consideration. All final admissions decisions of admit, deny, or waitlist will be made no later than early April, 2016.
