University of Michigan EA class of 2020 thread

Guessing tomorrow, 3 pm.

My friend received an email from UMich in which they tell him to be patient and that his decision will be released at the latest by April. I’m assuming this is a deferral, but I just want to confirm, as no one else I know of that applied has gotten their decision yet.

I don’t feel like there is a specific time all of the decisions will be released, they should prob start rolling out mid-to-late afternoon.

this might be out of place but does anyone know when will they notify u if u submitted a week late after EA?0.0

@easypeazy , probably not until Feb or March, depending on how backed up they are.

@wildcats2016 you sure he wasn’t asking for ross?

Current mood: AHHHHHHHHH!!! Thank you for your time.

Anyone able to chance me really quickly? Feeling very anxious :open_mouth:

GPA: 4.32

Community Service: NHS and Lacrosse Coaching

Essays: 9/10, pretty original

@ErenYeager nope he applied for engineering, and the email said his decision would be made in april. As quoted from the email:
“Cross off your list any worries about your University of Michigan application. We assure you that we are working on your decision, and will notify you by early April… Your patience is appreciated while we carefully review thousands of applications to give you a fair decision.”

holla

Hmm, what did he ask? It seems weird they’d just tell someone like that.

@ErenYeager he didn’t even ask UMich anything, they just sent him that email out of the blue. That’s why I think it’s a deferral.

@wildcats2016 the only thing I can thing of is that he didn’t get all his materials in time, so this is their way of letting him know he’s being considered for regular decision instead

@UMichAdmissions on Twitter usually tweets a few days before decisions are released, yet they still haven’t done so this year. Does this concern anyone?

@ggirl2020 interesting you bring that up, because Michigan sent him an email saying he qualified for EA, and his portal shows that they’ve received a transcript. Strange that they didn’t outright say he was deferred nor his materials weren’t in on time, why are they being so vague?

@wildcats2016 Maybe he missed the deadline to become EA qualified and they moved him to RD?

@wildcats2016 That e-mail means nothing. Any applicant will get the final outcome at the latest by April. That would be their safest generic answer without even looking at the application.

Yeah that email sounds like a notification that he’s in RD not EA. They would say outright that he is deferred if that’s what the decision was. They can’t be vague when it comes to those things.

Also, barely ate tonight because my stomach is just in one huge knot. I’ve been waiting since August 4th when I submitted my app, never thought this day would come! GOOD LUCK AND GO BLUE

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for EA?

It looks like most of us will be waiting till midnight…
