does anyone know the order in which they review applications?
Has Michigan released any OOS decisions? It seems like most of the transfer admits are from Michigan colleges and universities.
@Kimo1999 I got my acceptance 2 weeks ago (I’m a California community college student)
@90smix I think you’re the only OOS student on this thread admitted. Thank you for updating.
@Kimo1999 NP. My post is #99 if you wanna see my stats/info.
Wondering the same thing
I applied on February 1st with all of my materials submitted and received before that, but I haven’t heard back yet. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of when I might be getting a decision
Seems like in-state freshmen/sophomores transferring have heard. Other than @90smix, it seems like no OOS transfers have received their notices. Has anyone OOS received rejections yet?
Seems like the transfer students from MSU, Michigan-Dearborn, and Michigan CC have started to hear back. Has anyone talked to their Michigan counselors?
anybody who got in and is a current freshman looking for an apartment or rooming situation?
You can still late register for on-campus housing, even though you’re not considered a “returning resident.”

I’m not sure what UMich provides a transfer student for housing, but you should try to figure out your living situation soon. Lots of new apartment construction taking place, but the new(er) housing is on the expensive side.
Hi guys! I just got my acceptance letter last afternoon at 3 PM! I lurked this website a lot during my application process, so I thought I’d make an account to share my stats with you all.
Current school: Michigan CC
School applied for: LSA
Major: Undeclared
GPA: 4.0
High School GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1210 (I was told the closer you are to junior standing, the less they take high school and SAT/ACT into account)
Credits: ~57. I did the IB program in high school as well, so some of these credits transferred over.
Job/Volunteering: I work part-time and also consistently volunteer at a food bank and animal shelter.
A parent and sibling of mine have attended UofM
I also submitted a letter of recommendation.
Before my CC I was at art school and thought this would be my downfall due to the amount of studio credits I had, and choosing LSA over Stamps was risky because of this. I still made it. You guys got this. If you get rejected the first time around you’re able to update up to a few terms in which you only have to resend updated transcripts. This works out for a lot of people. Good luck:)
I applied for LSA and have yet to get a decision when will I hear back?
I was told by a little birdie that basically, pools of applicants are given to admissions officers and they just need to evaluate them by their own certain deadline (the 6-8 weeks they tell us). So in theory one person could evaluate all their given applications in a day and another could take a long time. So its on the evaluator’s time essentially. That’s why some people who submit later can hear before others. It’s just that the person who evaluated their applications finished it before another evaluator did. I hope you hear back soon!!
Does the admissions department ask to see a midyear report? Or they only evaluate the first 3 semesters?
My student applied months ago as a transfer student to LSA. He was recently accepted but now would like to study engineering. Have there been cases where an accepted student changed from LSA to Engineering prior to entering the university? Or will he likely have to start in LSA then try to transfer as a cross campus student to Engineering? Thanks for any insight
@pushingtopull I believe you only need to have a midyear report if specifically requested. If you haven’t heard anything at this point I imagine you don’t need to submit anything more.
@9101transfermum Seeing as you can only apply to one UM school at a time, and that is a part of the evaluation, I don’t think you can change prior. This is the link for cross-campus transfer info: https://admissions.umich.edu/apply/other-applicants/change-u-m-schoolcollege However I would also have your son email his transfer counselor as well. It never hurts to ask.
@9101transfermum I’m planning on transferring to Engineering from LSA. there are a lot of prereq clases for engineering that you need and after you apply you cannot change your desired college
I just got admitted to the LSA school today. Please let me know if you have any questions
Hey, I applied for SM in kines too, did you ask your advisor that when is the approximate date that the decision will come out?
