University of Michigan Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

Hi guys! Yesterday I received my acceptance into LSA and I was curious if there are any groups for admitted transfer students? I still need to figure out housing and everything else so I would love to get in contact with you guys. Congrats to everyone that got their acceptance letters!

@lexi7887 I am in the 2022 class group but if there are any others I should be a part of please lmk too :))) Very excited!

@lexi7887 i’m in the 2022 fb gc but i’m not sure what else. we could always make our own from everyone on here that would want to.

Does anyone know what they’re doing for housing, or know of any group chats or anything for admitted transfers?

UMich has a website that allows people looking for housing off campus to connect. I accessed it through the wolverine access portal. I am totally down to join a group of some sort to connect with everyone if anyone knows of anything.

Hey! Has anyone applied for the two-year renewable scholarship? I was admitted in Feb and received an email about a month later inviting me to apply. Was wondering when we hear back or if anyone has yet! Thanks and congrats to everyone admitted

Hi, do you mean that there is housing especially for transfer students? And…terrible?

I got accepted to CS major at LSA at 12:00 am on April 6!!

@GoBlue2233, Hi, maybe I should add your wechat. I’m guessing you got admitted in CS major in LSA School, right? So, does your wolverine access show that your academic plan is “LSA undeclared?” I’m so confused at this point because I put CS as my first preferred major and Math as my second on Common Application website. So, my academic plan should be LSA CS but it’s not. Do you have the same concern? Thank you!

@ColdenNYC1125 I noticed the same thing on my application. I applied for the psychology major in LSA but my academic plan shows up as LSA undeclared as well

@ColdenNYC1125 that’s because you haven’t actually declared your major yet a lot of people do that 2nd semester of sophomore year

Do you guys know if there is anyway to find out the transfer credits at umich before committing?

@ColdenNYC1125 Hi, I’m guessing all the people admitted to LSA are given an undeclared major, as you should declare your major after you actually go to U-Mich.

@potatoflip they will send you an email about that.

@GoBlue2233 I gotcha! I will go to UMich and don’t need to wait for other acceptance letters. So, do you mean I can get enrolled in CS major as long as I confirm my final decision to go to UMich?

@GoBlue2233 I’m guessing it is when you talk to your advisor after going to U-Mich, then you could easily declare your major.

Question: for the transfer students, do we have a chance to get into the dorm at East/South Squad, or we could only choose the Northwood part if we are going to live at dorm?

@lexi7887 Do you know what you’re gonna do for housing/ how you’ll find roommates or anything?

@GoBlue2233 Thanks! Hopefully I can see you there if you plan to go there too.

Anyone wanna start a group message on like Snapchat or something?
