University of Michigan Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@LukaLand77 Congratulations! That is how I found out too – an update at 1:10 a.m. ism. My confirmation email came the following day at 3 p.m.

Anyone waiting to hear back from the School of Information?

Anybody looking for a roommate? Seems like everybody looking for one is a girl - and I’m a guy. I haven’t been able to find anything on the Facebook group, unfortunately.

Mine told that I was rejected because of prerequisites, and I’m encouraged to reapply. Does it mean I’d been accepted if I had prerequisites? Or is it just more polite way to reject?

Did you apply to CoE? If so, you need to take all of the prerequisite courses outlined on their website.

@RIPchigan
Yes, I applied to COE. Do all applicants without the prerequisites receive the same letter as mine?

There’s a group on Facebook named as “Umich transfer students” y’all can join that

I just joined!

I’ve shared the link of groupme on that Facebook page for transfer students “Umich transfer Students” feel free to join!!

Thanks!

I was considering UMich but I just declined my offer (probably going to UNC) so I hope that takes at least one of you off the waitlist

For anyone that has been accepted, is all of your transfer credits not towards GPA? Does this mean that I can get a 2.0 or a low grade in a class and the grade doesn’t matter as long as I get the credit?

@Faexpopuli I received the same letter but I appealed my decision because I will have all my pre-reqs done by fall because I am taking summer classes.

@RIPchigan how many pre-reqs do you have left to take after this semester?

Just 1 that I’m taking during a half semester. @jazz4jda

has anyone heard anything back about the two-year renewable scholarship and/or transfer scholarships??

@LukaLand77 If you get a 2.0 you are not likely to be admitted, but the credits you transfer do not count toward your GPA. So, if you transfer 50 credits with a 3.7 GPA, you will start at UM with a clean slate and the opportunity to earn a 4.0. Also, nothing below a C transfers. I don’t know what a 2.0 is, but it is likely most of your courses won’t transfer.

@hugebig10girl are you talking about the Go Blue or something else?

@JellyPeeps something else. It is just for LSA students.

Does anyone know how long it takes for a financial aid estimate/package to come? I was accepted 10 days ago and I still haven’t gotten one.

@tbklash Have you checked for additional documents? I realized (late) that my tax return didn’t include W2s and 1099s, so I had to submit those and a military benefit form. But they were on a different page, so I didn’t realize it at first. I would double check and make sure nothing shows outstanding, then maybe drop finaid an email.
