@JellyPeeps I checked and they actually received everything today! I know they need those docs to give an official aid notice, but I was wondering more about the estimated award notice the financial aid website says you’re supposed to get if documents are requested. Either way, it looks like I’ll just have to wait. If I haven’t received anything and it gets too close to the deadline I’ll give them a call.
my portal finally updated with all my docs received yesterday - i called to verify. the financial aid rep said it could still be 2-3 weeks before it is updated with the award.
@milsotransfer oh man. That is a bummer. My documents finally show as updated on 4/23.
Will umich release notification(ad/rej/waitlist) these days? I have submitted all my documents on Mar.18, but there’s still nothing on my portal… it’s so confused…
@JYYY03 I went through the same thing. You might want to call them and make sure there isn’t anything else outstanding. I found out I was waiting on a bunch of financial aid stuff and finally sent it in weeks later. I got my decision 3 days later.
Thanks a lot! I’ll try to call them to make sure everything’s ok!
Is anyone who wasn’t accepted reapplying for the next available term (winter 2020)? I didn’t get accepted for the fall, but I was told to reapply
I was rejected from Aerospace because my Diff Eq and Gen Chem labs didn’t pass their committee review to Math 216, Chem 125, and Chem 126.
A bit disappointing but I got into Aerospace at GATech, UIUC, and UCLA, so I still have good options.
I actually got the Chem 125 and 126 credit yesterday.
Probably going to inquire next week as to what the hard deadline was for credit review as I was never notified of this.
I need to get a review on some honors research classes I took.
Hey Guys! I’m posting this after finally deciding on Michigan and paying my deposit yesterday. I’m entering in the class of 2021 with an Economics major. Could anyone provide any information on how the housing/roommate process went and if there are any groups specifically for transfer students? Thanks!
@16mmcglynn1998 there is a transfer group on facebook that is all about housing right now. That might be a good place to start.
Also, congratulations!
@JellyPeeps Thanks! would you mind sharing the link to the group?
Search for UMich Transfer Students. CC is weird about posting links.
Anyone considering other schools besides UM?
hello!! so i got my spring 2019 grades back and i ended up getting four A’s and a C- … italian really isnt my thing lol. when i applied for the fall term, admissions told me to keep up a strong academic record and apply for the next term, so i pushed my application back from fall 2019 to winter 2020. do you think the four A’s would still count as building up a strong academic record? or would the C- royally screw up my chances?
Hey everyone, so I got into LSA and wanted to see what kind of resources you all are looking at for this post acceptance process.
did anyone else get an email that said this ??
"Dear ___ :
After an individualized and comprehensive review of your application for admission to the University of Michigan, we regret that we are not able to offer you a place in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts for Fall 2019.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions considers many factors in evaluating transfer applicants to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) including the number of credit hours completed in transferable course work, the grades earned in this coursework, the progress toward completion of general LSA degree requirements, as well as an applicant’s personal characteristics, background, and essay responses. Because you do not have enough transferable credits to be at junior standing, we also considered your academic record from high school, including your GPA and your standardized test scores.
The quality of academic work you demonstrated last semester was impressive, and it was noted in the evaluation of your application.
If your interest in attending the University of Michigan continues, you should continue to build upon the strong academic performance you have shown and update your application for consideration for the next available term. Please request this update in writing prior to the deadline of your desired new term of entry. Also include the name of the institution you are attending, course title(s), course number(s), and number of credit hours you will complete prior to the desired term of entry. If a new application fee or additional information is required, we will notify you. For more information, go to https://umich.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/471.
The interest you have shown in the University is appreciated, and we extend to you our best wishes for success in the achievement of your educational goals.
Sincerely,
Erica L. Sanders
Director"
@kmalin How many credits do you have/how many semesters have you taken? I know of quite a few people who attend a community college or another 4 year who try to transfer after one semester who were rejected and invited to reapply the next year, It may just be a case of not enough credits.
