University of Michigan - Most Expensive Public School

for the person that asked, i actually applied to six schools, not 3… I’m going to Mich Feb 22 for a tour and a financial aid talk. Thanks kmccrindle for all the figures and options.

What were all the schools that you applied to…

Duke
UMich
UNC
NC State

and where else? :)

Let us know how the visit goes. Good luck.

thanks a lot. Actually, a representative from my city contacted me, his son and another kid from his sons school have gone to Michigan in the last few years. One was ranked 2nd got into Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, ect. He got 20g/year merit AND 10G/year for being from an “underrepresented area” thats right, I do have hope, maybe Charlotte is still considered underrepresented. I applied to Georgie Tech, Duke, UNC, NC State, Michigan, and Virginia Tech

Are you still going for your visit on the 22nd?

My son’s dream was to attend Michigan last year and he got deferred from early admisison and then wait listed.

But given the cost of UMich and the bad economy in Michigan, I am just as happy. I would expect the OOS cost to continue to increase, and/or to have cuts in faculty and services in the near future.

Of all the schools my son was accepted in last year, most were talking about how they were trying to keep the budget problems from affecting students. I imagine that is still a problem.

My friends at UMich say this is already happening :/.

I hate Michigan (the state) sometimes >.<
