University of Michigan - Nursing College

I’ve been trying to find out more information about the Nursing College at UofM (besides the official website) and couldn’t really find anything. Does anyone have recommended stats or personal experience with the admission process that they can share? I would like to know how hard it is to get in as a undergraduate freshman for the 2021 fall term. Thank you!

Hi! I’m an OOS student about to start my first semester at UM’s school of nursing! I honestly don’t know how helpful anything I say will be for you considering the admissions process will most likely change drastically in response to COVID but I can give you some of my stats/advice to give you a decent idea of what worked this year.

I had a 1500 SAT and a 35 ACT (neither super-scored). I had a 4.0 and took 13 AP courses. I didn’t excel on the exams (mostly 4s). But seriously, don’t sweat over your test scores that much… essays matter MUCH more in my experience.

In terms of writing your application essays, you need to brainstorm a different way of writing the Michigan supplements. Instead of responding straight-up to the questions/prompts, you need to get creative. And I’m not saying make yourself sound like the most unique and quirky person out there. I’m talking writing style. It NEEDS to be personalized. Show them why and how you’re a good fit for both Michigan and the nursing program separately!! I hope this helps! Good luck!
