University of Michigan RD class of 2020 thread

lol, I applied on the last day possible and really didn’t spend much time on the application so I’m slowly losing hope anyways

@jasishere i feel this. i also submitted my app like the night of 2/1 and rushed that longer essay… idk why i care so much about this decision

I wonder how many international applicants have been accepted. None that I know of.

@utkdxb I know of one international applicant from Indonesia who got accepted in EA.
I am an international applicant too, btw.

@blazedragon Right, but I was primarily asking about RD decisions since we’re on this thread.
Hey that’s wonderful! Which country are you from?

@emedylinaira Same!! And now that I have pretty nice instate offers/scholarships, I’m honestly not really feeling UMich anymore, which is a shame I guess. It’s mostly just the anticipation of waiting for a decision that’s irritating

@blazedragon I’m an international applicant too! I applied in late december and I’m still waiting for a decision… Don’t know any other international applicant

@kfromgermany I am an international applicant from UK. I applied on 17th of December and haven’t heard back. I am not feeling positive since apparently it is much harder OOS and I got rejected by UCLA last week. Does anyone know which is harder as an OOS student?

@jsharpe101 I applied to umich RD OOS. I applied a day before the deadline and was accepted right away March 4th. I was invited to apply to the Honors college. I also applied to UCLA (also OOS) and was rejected (not even waitlisted). So based on this anecdotal evidence I am going to say it is easier to get into umich OOS than UCLA.

I am not an international applicant though.

@utkdxb @kfromgermany I am an international applicant from India.
I applied to UMich around 30th December, but my application will probably be reviewed only now, because of a HUGE miscommunication between Commonapp and the University of Michigan ;( Hopefully I would still be getting positive news in the end.
All the best to you both and everyone else waiting for decisions!

@blazedragon Hey even I’m an Indian, albeit living in and applying from the UAE! Currently in India for a short vacation, though.
Oh I’m sorry about that. I’m sure you’ll fare well in this admissions process. Thanks and to you too, good luck!

@kfromgermany Hey K! Another international applicant here. Best of luck to you.

Thank you!

Hey @blazedragon and @utkdxb I’m from India too, applied around 25th Jan and still havent found out. Good luck to everyone!

@akshatpradhan Nice to see so many applicants from India xD  I hope we all get positive news soon!
Good luck to you too, and to everyone else too

Which other schools have you guys applied to? The wait is killing me…

@akshatpradhan So far I’ve been accepted to RPI, WPI and UMD College Park, waitlisted at Georgia Tech. Pretty set on RPI but waiting from UW Madison, UMich, and URochester. You?

accepted to Penn state and Ohio state and waiting for UMich, UW and UMinn. Gonna pursue a CS major, what about everyone else?

@akshatpradhan My luck sucks so far ;(

Deferred by Harvard during early action, flat out rejected by MIT and Caltech. Waitlisted by UChicago. :frowning: Let’s see how things turn out in all the other colleges I applied to, especially UMich, because it is also a college I would love to attend.
I applied for an astrophysics major btw.

International applicant from Pakistan here. Hello to you from across the border, hope to see you guys at Michigan. I applied and got my acceptance in 6 weeks
