Waitlisted! Does anyone know the waitlist statistics from previous years?
where exactly on the portal do we check?
Historically Michigan has offered about 15,000 students a spot on the waitlist. Only about 1/3 accept a spot. Of those 5,000 students they only accept about 2% or less.
I made a thread for the waitlist. http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-michigan-ann-arbor/2068981-university-of-michigan-waitlist-applicants-2022-p1.html?new=1

@engineering2022 You can definitely try but don’t hold any particular hope for success. All my 3 kids applied w/ UMich - D1 accepted, attended, graduated, and now in JHU for MD. D2 - EA deferred, rejected, now at CMU for BME. Youngest S EA accepted, and now deciding. Mom is UMich grad. So we know the school and people quite well. We did call up some of our contacts wrt out S’s FA package, the message is always, go ahead, you can try but don’t expect much. The FA package for S is ok (nowhere as generous as he got from another school) and we kinda expected that since we are OOS. I don’t blame UMich would accept more in-state kids and give more aid to them vs us (even with legacies and active UMich alum supporters w/ functions and donations). It is a great school, unfortunately, it is also quite expensive for OOS and FA likely less substantial for that demographic as well. This is the UMich our family get to know throughout the years.
Waitlisted…not sure how since this was a safety

@cj12345 It is a safety. They obviously do yield protection since I was waitlisted but am headed to Stanford this fall (REA admit). Additionally, I was accepted to UCLA and UC Berkeley.
I took a fat L

@farmboy32 Yeah I got waitlisted at Case too. I still really would have wanted to go there though…
