University of Michigan Regular Decision Class of 2022

@Alexandre In my opinion, in engineering, Columbia definitely has the edge. Then again, I’m not exactly certain the relevance of either of our views.

I also consider UMich to have better engineering than Columbia. However, there are some rankings think otherwise. There are also a ranking that put Rice and Yale engineering at much higher position too. Not sure what are their criteria. Most main stream media put UMich higher than Columbia in engineering.

Columba is in NYC. That means it’s absolutely the bestest in everything, right? In my opionion, your opinion is wrong.

anyone else still waiting for decision? I still am

Does anyone know what grades you need to keep to not get rescinded? I tried looking but I can’t find anything.

You don’t need to worry unless you have 3 or more C, or any grade below a D.

@billcsho do you know if that is in regards to final grades or marking period/semester grades?

So if I still haven’t heard yet, should I expect a decision today or tonight as it is mid April and just days before April 15

@richardye1 The school does not really want to rescind admitted students. They will wait for the final report before taking any action. Also, they will give you a chance to explain.

anyone get a decision tonight that is still waiting?

Does anyone know when they notify people about scholarships?

@Tambor12345 If you mean merit scholarships, most have been notified by March.

@richardye1 Here’s a link with Michigan’s rescind policy! They are super relaxed and don’t really rescind any students unless you do something really, really bad. I.E. Get arrested or fail a class or something to prevent you from graduating. Hope this helps!

When this week should final decisions be out if we are still waiting?

Hi there!

I was wondering if it possible to do a dual-degree program with an LSA major and the Ross BBA as well as a minor in LSA? For example I am interested in doing a Political Science and BBA dual program as well as a minor in drama.

Thanks in advance for your help!

@WFBrown… Maybe if you don’t ever sleep  It’s very interesting what you want to do. I would reach out to a counselor for better advice.

A dual degree is possible in four years if you come in with advanced high school classes (IB in HL Mathematics and Economics, AP Calc BC and Micro/Macro, A Level in Mathematics and Econ etc…) and are granted 16+ credits. Of course, even with those credits, you will still have to work hard to complete a Ross/LSA dual degree in four years, but it is possible.

Adding a minor in drama will most certainly delay graduation by 1-2 trimesters.

Does anyone know if we need to make a deposit for housing? Or is it just the intend to enroll one?

@Tambor12345 no deposit for housing afaik but you do need to submit the separate housing application

There’s no separate deposit or separate bill for housing. You make one deposit, you pay one bill. The university allocates the funds to where they belong.
